About CareerSwift: CareerSwift is a premier, rapidly growing technology platform and software innovator on an absolute mission to optimize digital user experiences and deliver flawless product functionality. By unifying robust quality assurance protocols with agile product and engineering teams, the company ensures that deployed software operates exactly as intended without friction. Driven by a culture that values meticulous attention to detail, CareerSwift empowers its R&D division to question baseline assumptions, uncover hidden edge cases, and elevate the overall software deployment lifecycle safely. The organization provides high-agency QA specialists with an uncompromised remote canvas to build automated testing architectures, shape evolving QA processes, and drive measurable quality improvements natively across its platforms.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented QA / Test Engineer to join our core centralized R&D collective in a full-time remote capacity anywhere across the United States. In this high-impact quality gatekeeping seat, you will step up to claim individual operational accountability for owning, defining, and optimizing our comprehensive testing lifecycles. Shifting completely away from passive manual clicking or unstructured feedback loops, you will act as the primary bridge between raw code development and flawless user execution. This position requires an early-career testing professional with at least 1 year of QA history who writes crystal-clear bug reports fluidly, constructs automated testing scripts smoothly natively using Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright, and thrives on finding the abstract edge cases that others naturally miss.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-Lifecycle Test Case Governance: Write, execute, update, and maintain detailed test case architectures covering both new feature deployments and existing legacy functionality natively utilizing QA Engineer best practices.
- Comprehensive Manual Triage: Perform rigorous exploratory testing, structured regression cycles, and initial smoke testing at multiple stages of the software release cycle to safeguard production environments.
- Automated Test Script Architecture: Build, scale, and maintain reliable automated testing scripts and deployment validation pipelines natively leveraging Automation Engineer frameworks (specifically across Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright).
- Precision Bug Reporting: Document and report software defects with absolute clarity, mapping out exact reproduction steps, detailing expected versus actual behaviors, and assigning accurate priority severity levels.
- Cross-Functional Developer Alignment: Work directly alongside core developers and product managers during sprint planning to deeply understand technical requirements and proactively flag potential structural issues early.
- Process Maturation and Optimization: Help drive, refine, and improve the internal QA procedures and testing methodologies over time as the engineering team scales.
- Edge-Case Identification: Think naturally in boundary conditions, intentionally stressing the software to identify obscure break points and complex edge cases before they reach live users.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- At least 1 year of verified professional history running software quality assurance, manual test execution, defect tracking, or automated test scripting.
- Deep, authoritative foundational command of manual testing methodologies, test case design structures, and software development life cycle (SDLC) integration.
- Practical operational familiarity writing, executing, and debugging automated code natively using at least one major test automation framework (specifically Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright).
- Expert-tier capability drafting highly scannable, actionable bug reports that backend and frontend developers can instantly understand and replicate.
- Demonstrated ability to think critically about software architecture, naturally questioning assumptions and hunting for complex edge cases.
- Location Context: Position open exclusively to qualified QA professionals based permanently and resident anywhere within the **United States** to execute testing operations under a 100% remote home-office layout.
Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)
- Prior commercial testing history operating explicitly within a B2B SaaS environment, HR technology platform, or high-volume enterprise software hub.
- Hands-on functional familiarity utilizing modern issue tracking databases (such as Jira or Linear) and version control platforms.
- An outcome-driven personal philosophy rooted in high attention to detail, an eager drive to make software fundamentally better, and a passion for treating quality assurance as a critical engineering discipline.
What We Offer
- Competitive Hourly United States Remuneration: An attractive full-time compensation scale structured transparently between $34 – $42 USD per hour, calibrated precisely to evaluate your manual testing foundations and automation scripting capability.
- The exceptional professional canvas to directly direct, shape, and code-engineer the QA validation pipelines power-routing reliability for a fast-growing tech platform.
- Profound work-from-home remote parameters offering an elite distributed workplace arrangement, complete scheduling trust, and zero physical geographic office commuting friction from any city in the US.
- Direct operational exposure to a highly collaborative R&D environment, working side-by-side with experienced developers and product managers.
- Continuous skill acceleration pathways, providing the unique opportunity to help shape the foundational QA processes and tooling choices as the internal team grows.
