The role

As a Product Owner, you are passionate about experience innovation and eager to push the boundaries of what’s possible. You bring +5 YEARS of experience, a growth mindset and a drive to make a lasting impact.

You will thrive in this role if you are:

  • A curious problem solver who challenges the status quo
  • A collaborator who values teamwork and knowledge-sharing
  • Excited by the intersection of technology, creativity and data
  • Experienced in Agile methodologies and consulting (a plus)

Role responsibilities

Backlog Management & Prioritization

Own, manage, and continuously prioritize the retail team backlog (features, user stories, enhancements, defects, spikes), keeping items well-defined, detailed, and development-ready.

Break down retail and clienteling initiatives into clear, buildable user stories with dependencies and testable conditions.

Set priority based on business value, impact on Client Advisors and clients, and alignment with the retail roadmap and broader program goals — balancing stakeholder requests against team capacity through informed trade-offs.

Acceptance Criteria & Story Readiness

Define clear acceptance criteria and a definition of “done” for each story, ensuring the team understands what is needed for successful, quality store-facing functionality.

Confirm stories are marked ready for development, with story points and no unresolved gaps, blockers, or dependencies before commitment.

Stakeholder Communication

Act as the primary day-to-day contact between the retail/store business, the Product Manager, and the development team.

Gather requirements and feedback from store operations, retail and regional teams, and Client Advisor user groups; manage expectations on scope, delivery, and timing.

Plan stakeholder communication, sprint review visibility, and UAT whenever a change impacts store or regional teams.

Agile Ceremonies & Sprint Execution

Lead sprint planning: prepare and prioritize sprint scope, validate story readiness and capacity, and define or support the sprint goal.

Work closely with the team throughout each sprint to clarify requirements, unblock developers, answer delivery questions, and refine stories as needed.

Prepare and lead sprint reviews, demonstrating completed retail features to global and regional store stakeholders and capturing feedback and follow-ups.

Continuously refine and adjust the backlog based on team progress and stakeholder feedback.

Feature Acceptance, UAT & Release Validation

Review completed work against acceptance criteria and accept or reject stories based on delivered value and quality.

Coordinate UAT / business validation for high-impact store and clienteling changes — creating or supporting Jira X-Ray test cases, confirming the right validators, and tracking pass / fail / blocked status.

Perform smoke testing on staging and production to confirm releases have not broken key store or clienteling flows (complementing, not replacing, QA).

Support launch readiness and store rollout, including enablement, adoption, and change management for Client Advisors and store teams.

Roadmap Alignment & Demand Intake

Collaborate with the Product Manager / Strategy Lead so delivery aligns with the retail product vision and roadmap, and translate that vision into tactical execution at the feature and story level.

Support demand intake and PI Planning preparation: help shape new store/clienteling initiatives, clarify value and scope, identify impacted markets and dependencies, and prepare feature cards for technical review and estimation.

Must have qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:

Proven experience as a Product Owner (or equivalent) delivering in an Agile / SAFe environment, ideally within an Agile Release Train.

Hands-on experience with retail / store technology — ideally a clienteling or store application such as Brilliance (or a comparable platform) and Salesforce (CRM / Sales / Service / Commerce Cloud).

Working knowledge of store operations, POS / retail systems, and Client Advisor workflows.

Familiarity with CRM and client-data concepts, and how client data powers clienteling and outreach.

Demonstrated ability to translate field and store business needs into clear, structured digital product requirements.

Comfort managing backlogs and delivery in Jira (including Jira X-Ray for test cases).

Nice to have qualifications

Prior experience in luxury retail, fashion, or premium brands.

SAFe certification (e.g., SAFe PO/PM) or equivalent Agile certification.

Experience with omnichannel or unified-commerce programs connecting online and offline experiences.

Experience supporting store rollouts and enablement across multiple markets or regions.

If you do not meet all the listed qualifications or have gaps in your experience, we still encourage you to apply. At Valtech, we recognize that talent comes in many forms, and we value diverse perspectives and a willingness to learn.
