Position Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical, product-minded Product Engineer, AI - Native to join our core global Engineering division in a full-time remote capacity anywhere in Canada (with an optional physical office hub in Toronto). Shifting completely away from rigid “take tickets and write code” arrangements, this senior-level seat demands absolute end-to-end problem ownership where you turn vague clinical and logistical challenges into clear product and technical executions. You will work across frontend architectures, backend services, data lines, and AI integrations to build obvious and highly reliable experiences that patients trust. This role requires an engineer who treats advanced AI utilities as a default component of their daily workflow to accelerate prototyping and raise product quality, while possessing the seasoned craftsmanship to meticulously audit user interfaces, performance latency, empty states, and web accessibility.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Feature Ownership: Lead and govern full feature lifecycles from early abstract problem definitions through architectural planning down to layout testing, deployment, and post-launch optimization.
• Multi-Framework Frontend Engineering: Code, optimize, and maintain responsive, highly accessible customer-facing web components natively utilizing React, Vue, and modern JavaScript design models.
• PHP and Python Backend Optimization: Architect and refactor robust, memory-safe backend microservices, system controllers, and algorithmic infrastructure loops natively using Python frameworks and PHP/Laravel services.
• AI-Native Experience Integration: Design and wire secure, fast machine learning integrations and automated workflows into core digital health modules, ensuring useful and obvious interactions for non-technical users.
• Meticulous Interface Auditing: Sweat the operational and design details, continuously debugging code layers to eliminate slow page loads, clear out messy edge cases, and refine empty states.
• Observability and Monitoring Triage: Inject comprehensive runtime monitoring, alert logs, and structural telemetry markers into active production clusters to improve system reliability.
• Cross-Functional Platform Alignment: Coordinate daily alongside product managers, graphic designers, data teams, clinical leads, and pharmacists to translate patient requirements into highly maintainable systems software.
• Technical Engineering Mentorship: Act as an engineering mentor across the department, delivering clear documentation, reviewing pull requests, and raising the technical execution bar for intermediate team members.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of verified professional history running advanced full-stack software development, technical product engineering, web applications building, or cloud-native system architecture delivery.
• Deep, authoritative technical command of distributed backend services, showing a production-tested history coding natively using Python or PHP/Laravel environments.
• Demonstrated experience engineering user interfaces, state managers, and responsive data containers natively leveraging either React or Vue frameworks.
• Proven capability leveraging advanced digital AI utilities inside your day-to-day software workflow to accelerate feature velocity, build prototypes sooner, and analyze technical tradeoffs.
• Outstanding problem-solving logic, with a demonstrated ability to take an ambiguous user requirement and independently transform it into a clear, shipped codebase outcome.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication traits in fluent English, with a proven ability to defend product decisions and explain technical risks to multi-department stakeholders.
• Location Context: Full-time operational parameters open to qualified full-stack engineers based permanently anywhere within Canada to operate 100% remotely from home.
