About the Role

Our Product Design team focuses on simplifying complex workflows for Gearset users. Product designers collaborate closely with customers, product managers, and engineers to solve problems, test ideas, and learn from shipped solutions.

You’ll join a collaborative team working across the Gearset platform, sharing ideas, learning from peers, and owning meaningful problems while contributing to a supportive environment.

You’ll tackle technically interesting challenges at the core of the Gearset platform, including workflow pipelines connecting different parts of customers’ workflows. While prior knowledge of Salesforce or DevOps isn’t required, curiosity and a willingness to learn technical concepts are essential. The team provides the space and support to build this knowledge incrementally.

What’s the Opportunity for a Product Designer at Gearset?

  • Take ownership of customer problems from discovery to delivery, with the freedom to explore solutions, shape approaches, and learn from live outcomes.

  • Support the Automation and Governance product group, addressing challenges around activation, time to value, and complex workflows.

  • Engage directly with customers to understand their day-to-day challenges, using research and product data to identify where design can make the biggest impact.

  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers from the initial problem discussion, bringing diverse perspectives to explore, shape, and develop the right solutions.

  • Design for users with varying levels of technical knowledge, simplifying workflows for Salesforce admins, release managers, and developers.

  • Expand your technical knowledge by working on coded prototypes, design system components, and smaller product changes beyond Figma.

  • Explore how AI can enhance your design process and contribute to customer experiences.

  • Have autonomy to identify opportunities, investigate them, and influence the team’s focus areas.

What You’ll Achieve

  • Develop a deep understanding of customers through discovery and usability research, uncovering high-value problems.

  • Translate customer insights and product data into ideas, collaborating with product managers and engineers to explore and test approaches.

  • Bring ideas to life through prototypes and research, learning directly from end-users.

  • Work closely with engineers as designs integrate into the Gearset platform, staying involved throughout the process.

  • Maintain high standards for shipped experiences, ensuring they are useful, coherent, and well-made.

  • Share accountability for post-launch outcomes, using customer feedback and product data to refine and improve experiences.

  • Identify opportunities, explore them, and build evidence to guide future focus areas.

  • Contribute to the wider Product Design team by sharing work, exchanging feedback, and supporting peers through pairing and reviews.

About You

  • You have experience designing and shipping digital products, with a portfolio demonstrating the problem solved, approach taken, and outcomes achieved—not just the final UI.

  • You’ve collaborated with product managers and engineers throughout the design process, integrating diverse perspectives to drive solutions.

  • You have experience conducting user research, speaking directly with users, and using product analytics to inform decisions.

  • You excel at simplifying complex workflows and are interested in learning technical concepts behind the products you design.

  • You can manage multiple projects at different stages, integrate AI into your workflow, and use post-launch insights to inform future work.

Great to Haves

  • Experience with B2B SaaS, technical applications, or developer products, or familiarity with Salesforce, DevOps, Git, or version control.

  • Hands-on technical experience, such as working with code, HTML, or CSS, creating coded prototypes, contributing to design systems, or using platforms like Amplitude, Figma, Notion, or Claude.
