As a Power Developer on Intersect's Development team, you'll drive the strategy, commercial structuring, and development execution of utility-scale wind, solar, storage, natural gas, and load projects across key energy markets. You will own projects throughout their full lifecycle—from early-stage strategy through construction handover—by framing key tradeoffs, managing project economics, and negotiating critical commercial agreements.

Partnering closely with internal subject matter experts (SMEs) and external stakeholders, you'll solve complex development challenges to deliver de-risked, high-impact assets that generate long-run value.

Team Overview

This team plays a critical role in advancing Intersect's mission to accelerate the clean energy transition. The Development team acts as the central engine for growth, identifying high-value regional opportunities and transforming land, load demand, and market signals into fully operational, utility-scale power infrastructure. Joining this team means taking end-to-end ownership of complex energy assets while collaborating with industry experts in an agile, high-trust environment.

What You'll Do

Drive End-to-End Project Development Strategy

  • Lead utility-scale wind, solar, storage, natural gas, and load projects through every stage of development, from initial market entry and strategy to construction handover.
  • Evaluate site-specific development risks and opportunities, framing commercial tradeoffs for senior leadership and investment committees.

Lead Commercial Execution and Financial Modeling

  • Own comprehensive financial and valuation models in Excel to evaluate project economics, interconnection cost profiles, and M&A transaction structures.
  • Provide commercial guidance across all project workstreams, leading negotiations for key commercial terms and contracts with utilities, offtakers, and external stakeholders.

Steer Cross-Functional Delivery and Governance

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary SME teams—including engineering, permitting, origination, finance, and external consultants—to keep complex development pipelines on schedule.
  • Manage day-to-day project budgets, development schedules, and tracking tools to ensure strict operational discipline and project momentum.

What You'll Bring

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5-10 years of hands-on experience in power project development and/or power project M&A within the clean energy or broader utility-scale power sector.
  • Demonstrated expertise managing project financial models, structuring commercial deals, and evaluating complex energy market dynamics.
  • A deep understanding of ISO/RTO interconnection processes, environmental permitting gates, land control structures, and power purchase agreements (PPAs).
  • Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams through critical development milestones and high-stakes negotiations.
  • Strong alignment with Intersect's core values of Equity, Humility, Authenticity, Long-run Value, and People Come First.
