EngFlow does more than make builds faster. It improves the operating performance of the whole engineering organization.
The best teams can assemble powerful build and test infrastructure; the hard part is operating it reliably, with visibility and cost control, as demand grows. That is Build Management at AI Scale: operating build and test as production infrastructure, including execution, observability, reliability, and cost control, so teams can build, test, diagnose, and release even as they write code at AI speed. Engineering organizations, including BMW, Databricks, Snap, Canva, Lyft, and Asana, run on EngFlow. The result is high performance at scale.
We are seeking an experienced People Operations Manager to lead our People Operations team and maintain seamless HR operations during a maternity leave coverage period from late November through early May.
In this role, you will manage our People Ops team (a Recruiter and a People Ops Administrator), oversee core HR functions, ensure global compliance, and execute several high-impact annual milestones. The ideal candidate thrives in a fully remote, international team, possesses strong project management and communication skills, and brings a hands-on approach to both strategic initiatives and day-to-day HR execution.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership & Daily Operations
Manage & Mentor: Directly manage the People Ops team (Recruiter and Admin), providing direction, remove blockers, oversee projects, and support their day-to-day work.
HR Generalist Support: Oversee day-to-day HR operations, employee relations, onboarding/offboarding, leaves of absence, and general employee inquiries.
Systems & Processes: Ensure existing HR systems (justworks, deel, entity configurations), policies, and workflows run smoothly across our global team.
2. Major Milestones & Key Projects
Annual Compensation Cycle: Lead and execute the end-to-end annual compensation review process, working closely with executive leadership to manage budget allocation, salary benchmarking, and employee communications. Run quarterly spot bonus distribution process as well as options allocations and programs.
Business Insurance Renewal: Coordinate and finalize the annual renewal of global business insurance policies, ensuring proper coverage limits and compliance across all operating regions.
Company Summit Planning: Oversee the logistics, programming, and team alignment for our upcoming annual company-wide retreat/summit in collaboration with the People Ops and Executive Admin.
Performance Reviews and Talent Management: Run semi-annual performance review (Growth Feedback Process) for the entire company, ensuring 100% participation and compliance. Manage ongoing performance issues with managers and leaders on an ongoing basis.
3. Global Compliance & HR Administration
Global HR & Employment Compliance: Monitor and enforce compliance with employment laws and regulations across all jurisdictions where our remote team resides.
Benefits & Payroll Support: Partner with finance and external payroll/EOR providers to ensure timely and accurate global payroll and benefits administration.
Requirements:
Experience: 7+ years of progressive People Operations/HR Generalist experience, with prior experience managing direct reports.
Global & Remote Expertise: Proven experience in a fully remote, distributed, and global team environment (~75+ employees).
Compensation & Insurance: Demonstrated experience running an annual compensation cycle, rewards programs, and navigating business insurance renewals.
Event Oversight: Experience guiding high-level event planning or logistics (e.g., company retreats/summits).
Leadership Style: Adaptable, highly organized, empathetic, and comfortable stepping into an established team to maintain momentum seamlessly.
Tools & Systems: Familiarity with modern HRIS platforms, global EOR tools (e.g., Deel), PEOs, and collaborative tools (Slack, Google Workspace).
Bonus Skills:
Experience handling employee escalations.
Executive Presence and ability to collaborate with and influence leaders and managers.

EngFlow
View Company ProfileEngFlow is a cutting-edge developer productivity company dedicated to drastically accelerating software builds and tests through advanced remote execution and caching. Founded in 2020 by Helen Altshuler and Ulf Adams—the core creators and engineering leaders behind Google's Bazel build system—the company tackles the massive engineering bottleneck of slow compilation times. Under the hood, EngFlow provides an enterprise-grade platform that distributes complex builds across a scalable cluster of machines, seamlessly integrating with high-performance build systems like Bazel, CMake, Chromium's Goma, and Android's Soong. Their primary target audience includes elite engineering teams and large-scale enterprise software companies (such as Snap, Brave, and Viasat) that manage massive, monolithic codebases and demand high-velocity iteration. What sets EngFlow apart in the DevOps and CI/CD ecosystem is its unparalleled, creator-level domain expertise; they don't just optimize builds, they architect the infrastructure that allows development teams to achieve 10x to 24x speed improvements without abandoning their existing workflows or investing in prohibitively expensive local hardware.
