Position Overview
We are seeking a highly sophisticated, commercially minded Partner Development Manager, Strategic Partnerships to join our core global Strategic Partnerships cell within the Global Partnerships organization. This role is available in a full-time remote capacity across the United States or out of our premium office hubs. In this high-impact, senior transactional seat, you will claim absolute individual accountability for designing, negotiating, and executing first-of-a-kind commercial deal structures with our largest corporate users and foundational market partners. Moving far beyond abstract partner management checklists, you will lead complex, cross-functional initiatives across emerging software verticals, geographic expansions, and core platform integrations. This high-agency role demands a veteran business development authority who brings deep technical acumen, exhibits a strong sense of ownership, and excels at navigating top-tier financial and technology institutions to drive foundational product strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Partnership Curation: Evaluate, structure, and deploy highly methodical business cases to support Stripe’s core product and engineering investments in next-generation strategic partnerships across key verticals, including **Artificial Intelligence (AI), Platforms, and emerging Payment Methods**.
- Complex Deal Negotiation: Lead end-to-end strategic planning, commercial deal management, and contractual execution loops with top-tier financial and technology institutions, scaling deals across multiple partners simultaneously.
- Executive Relationship Management: Cultivate, expand, and nurture high-value relationships with external senior executives and executive leadership teams to align long-term incentives and drive joint business value.
- Milestone-Driven Deal Governance: Establish highly structured partnership models rooted natively in measurable key performance indicators (KPIs), clear operational milestones, and shared strategic priorities.
- Cross-Functional Platform Delivery: Partner deeply beside internal Product Management, Engineering, Go-to-Market Partnerships, Product Marketing, Sales, and Legal squads to design and implement strategies that increase team delivery velocity.
- Product Portfolio Alignment: Leverage advanced technical acumen to thoroughly comprehend Stripe’s underlying product portfolio, utilizing this insight to map out clear technical requirements with complex partners.
- Territory Pipeline Optimization: Lead region-specific or vertical-specific commercial assessments to unlock new transaction capacities and amplify incoming **lead generation** flows via enterprise channels.
- Asynchronous Process Standardization: Author, standardize, and maintain detailed transaction histories, playbook documentations, and contract governance guidelines to scale partnership execution capabilities safely.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 8+ years of verified professional history running advanced business partnerships, corporate alliances, enterprise business development, or full-scale strategic deal management.
- 2+ years of dedicated experience operating explicitly in a business development seat establishing complex, high-stakes partnerships with **financial institutions, fintech entities, or digital payment method providers**.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience defining and executing product-oriented partnership strategies to build innovative, scalable end-user product experiences.
- Demonstrated history negotiating high-value commercial contracts and scaling multi-party agreements across competitive technology ecosystems.
- Strong technical acumen, with an absolute capacity to analyze modern cloud portfolios, evaluate integration parameters, and write clean technical requirements with engineering stakeholders.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication mechanics, with a native capacity to present complex financial trade-offs clearly and influence stakeholders across a wide variety of functional levels.
- Location Context: Full-time remote parameters open to qualified partnerships leaders based permanently anywhere within the **United States** (defined as residing 35 miles or more away from a physical Stripe office location to execute from home).
Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)
- A Bachelor’s degree focused natively on Business Administration, International Finance, Corporate Relations, Economics, or a related quantitative branch of study.
- Deep intellectual curiosity and active tracking of global payments technology trends, regional economic infrastructure regulations, and merchant checkout optimization layers.
- Prior experience operating inside a high-velocity, hyper-growth global technology environment or an elite management consulting firm.
- Familiarity with cross-border payment rails, localized authentication standards, or multi-tenant merchant services architectures.
