Overview
The role involves supporting a Fortune 100 client through a strategic organizational design and research effort. The consultant will:
- Lead hands-on internal and external research to identify front-line organizational optimization opportunities.
- Translate research findings into actionable recommendations and develop a roadmap and execution strategy for implementation.
- Engage in a two-phase consulting opportunity:
- Phase one: A 2-3 month initiative involving on-site visits to dispersed US-based client locations over a 4-6 week period, collecting employee feedback, conducting focus groups, and analyzing insights to prepare recommendations for leadership.
- Phase two: Drive and deliver organizational development changes and execute recommendations.
All candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship or visa transfers.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute comprehensive research studies to inform organizational design and optimization strategies.
- Utilize methodologies like focus groups, stakeholder interviews, employee surveys, market research, benchmarking, and qualitative/quantitative research approaches.
- Conduct hands-on research and facilitate conversations with stakeholders across multiple organizational levels.
- Analyze and synthesize research findings to identify organizational trends, opportunities, gaps, and improvement areas.
- Translate findings into clear, actionable organizational design recommendations.
- Develop strategic roadmaps connecting research findings to practical implementation.
- Create executive-ready presentations, reports, and deliverables to communicate findings and recommendations.
- Conduct readouts and presentations with stakeholders, including senior and executive leadership.
- Partner with stakeholders to align research findings with broader business objectives and organizational strategy.
- Manage the transition from strategy and design into implementation and execution during a subsequent phase.
- Develop ROI and business impact analyses, including KPIs and success metrics to evaluate potential organizational changes.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of consulting experience supporting large Fortune 100-500 organizations in organizational research, design, effectiveness, strategy, or transformation.
- Hands-on experience designing and conducting research studies, including focus groups, stakeholder interviews, organizational assessments, benchmarking, and strategic development.
- Proven ability to manage an engagement from research → analysis → recommendations → roadmap → implementation planning.
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate complex findings into practical business recommendations.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and executive-level communication skills.
- Proficient with PowerPoint and Excel for creating polished, data-driven executive presentations and analyses.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to evaluate findings and develop ROI/business impact analyses and metrics.
- Ability to independently manage multiple workstreams and deliver high-quality work in a consulting environment.
- Experience presenting findings and delivering recommendations to audiences at all organizational levels.
Education/Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Human Resources, Psychology, Communications, or Business. A Master’s or advanced degree is helpful.
- Prosci change management certification is a plus.
