About the Role
Our Negotiations Escalations Specialists play a key role in the success of our clients becoming free of debt. Working on behalf of clients, you will coordinate efforts to help negotiate delinquent accounts placed with Law Firms for the best possible savings.
This role requires the judgment to interpret legal correspondence — summonses, complaints, and settlement demands — and translate it into an informed negotiation strategy, all while operating within a strict regulatory and compliance framework. The ideal candidate is a sharp communicator and relationship-builder who is comfortable working under legal deadlines and pressure, and who takes real satisfaction in helping clients move toward financial freedom.
What You’ll Do
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with attorneys and paralegals at Law Firms to effectively negotiate delinquent accounts on behalf of clients to cease further legal action.
- Manage a portfolio of accounts simultaneously — including escalated portfolios with active lawsuits or imminent legal action
- Utilize various tools and resources to consolidate common debts from multiple clients, enhancing negotiation leverage with agencies.
- Secure favorable terms including reduced balances, extended payment timelines, or lump-sum discounts.
- Demonstrate excellent time management and multitasking skills to efficiently manage account queues.
- Handle approximately 25-35 outbound/inbound calls daily (minimum of 4 hours a day of on the phone time)
- Review legal documents (such as summons, complaints, and settlement demands) to determine legal status and to confirm settlement status.
- Consistently exhibit a genuine passion for helping others, with a strong focus on meeting clients' needs.
- Participate in additional duties and special projects as required.
- Consistently meet or exceed monthly settlement and compliance goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Finance, Banking, Actuarial Science) or relevant work experience is preferred.
- Exceptional communication skills, including listening, verbal, and written abilities.
- Proven success working in a metrics-driven, KPI focused environment is preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong commitment to teamwork, collaboration, and fostering an inclusive environment.
- A deep passion for assisting others, with a client-focused approach.
- Proficiency in technology; experience with Salesforce or similar CRM systems is a plus.
