We are seeking a Manager, Data Center Solutions Design (Architecture) to lead the development and delivery of technical solutions across the Rowan project portfolio. This role is a key part of the technical team, driving solution design and cross-functional coordination from early planning through implementation.

The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in technical problem-solving, solution design principles, and modern infrastructure or cloud-based technologies. This role will independently manage a variety of efforts including submittal review, progress construction drawing review, and site-specific building solutions. While experience in data centers or industrial environments is beneficial, it is not required. Candidates with broader technology, engineering, or architecture backgrounds who are eager to take on complex solution-design work are encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, a customer-oriented mindset, excellent communication and organizational abilities, and the capability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. Comfort navigating ambiguity, mentoring junior team members, and working effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment is essential.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead the coordination of A/S/MEP design activities with external engineering consultants and ensure cross-discipline design alignment.
  • Gather and document customer A/S/MEP requirements in partnership with the Solutions Architect Team, driving clarity and completeness.
  • Provide onsite leadership during construction to verify architectural and structural work aligns with design intent.
  • Drive collaboration with design and construction teams to address site-specific challenges and improve constructability.
  • Oversee the coordination of construction documents prepared by third-party design consultants.
  • Identify and manage project risks throughout the lifecycle, developing mitigation strategies and escalating as needed.
  • Lead the development of engineering standards, documentation, and team processes.
  • Provide technical data and documentation to the Commercial team and program managers, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project goals.
  • Lead the review and processing of design submittals to ensure compliance with Rowan standards and project requirements.
  • Manage progress construction drawing reviews, providing detailed feedback on design development and coordination across disciplines.
  • Drive the development of site-specific building solutions that address unique project conditions, local code requirements, and customer needs.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members, providing guidance on technical standards, design processes, and professional growth.

Education, Skills, and Experience

  • Accredited professional degree in Architecture. Other related fields may be considered. Professional licensure (RA/PE) required, or AIT/EIT with active pursuit of licensure. Sustainable design accreditation preferred.
  • 5-9 years of hands-on experience overseeing architectural design and construction activities in the field with strong knowledge of building systems best practices, safety standards, and quality control procedures.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, REVIT, NAVISWORKS, and Blue Beam Revu.
  • Knowledge of A/MEP design and construction practices and processes required.
  • Knowledge of sustainability and integrated design guidelines.
  • Knowledge of QA/QC and specification processes.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate large teams and consultants.
  • Ability to communicate and present ideas in a clear, concise, and professional manner both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience communicating with senior leaders and executives at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, and highly cross-functional environment.
  • Ability to work with little oversight. The Rowan team collaborates constantly; however, the successful candidate should be comfortable working independently.
  • Ability to problem-solve and apply innovative solutions.
  • Ability to make decisions under challenging circumstances.
  • Ability to collaborate and encourage collaboration in a team environment.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines at expected quality.

Rowan Companies Plc (operating at rowan.com) is a diversified infrastructure and investment platform engineered for scalable, community-aligned growth across critical sectors. Founded in 1923 and headquartered in an unspecified U.S. location, Rowan specializes in delivering hyperscale data center capacity and facilitating the acquisition of lower-middle-market industrial businesses—bridging gaps where traditional infrastructure development faces delays or misalignment with regional needs. For hyperscale clients, Rowan’s build-to-suit data centers combine permitted land, power, and connectivity with rapid deployment timelines, eliminating the 3–5 year wait times typical of conventional projects. Meanwhile, its investment banking arm leverages a $12B+ transaction track record to help industrial business owners optimize valuations and exit strategies. This dual approach empowers enterprises to scale operations (via data infrastructure) and transition ownership (via strategic M&A), while local communities benefit from responsible, pre-approved development. With $824.8M in annual revenue, Rowan operates at the intersection of physical infrastructure and financial advisory, serving hyperscalers, industrial firms, and regional economies alike.
