About Us
Atlas is built for oncologists by oncologists. We provide practices with the staff, contracts, and toolkit they need to deliver truly whole person care to their cancer patients. Our value-based approach to care delivery aligns incentives, offering patients better outcomes, payors guaranteed reduction in medical expense, and provider partners greater financial independence.
The Role
At Atlas Oncology Partners, we believe compassionate, psychosocial care is just as essential as medical treatment in supporting patients with cancer. We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) to provide counseling and emotional support to patients and their families throughout the cancer care continuum. This position plays a critical role in helping patients navigate the psychological, emotional, and social challenges associated with diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and end-of-life planning. The LICSW partners with an interdisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care rooted in empathy, collaboration, and clinical excellence. As a small nimble team, this role will also support care navigation duties to provide resource connection throughout the cancer treatment journey.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following:
- Provide individual, family, and group counseling to address emotional distress, anxiety, depression, grief, and adjustment to illness
- Deliver crisis intervention and short-term supportive counseling as needed
- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Use evidence-based therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, ACT, supportive psychotherapy) tailored to oncology patients
- Support decision-making around treatment, survivorship, and end-of-life care
- Collaborate with oncology providers, nurses, navigators, and behavioral health team members to ensure whole-person care
- Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews, tumor boards, and team rounds
- Educate patients and caregivers on coping strategies, stress management, and mental wellness
- Facilitate or support group interventions, workshops, or wellness initiatives for patients and families
- Document all patient interactions and interventions in the EMR clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner
- Ensure compliance with all ethical, licensure, and regulatory standards
- Engage in continuing education and participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Support care navigation requests for patients

Atlas Oncology Partners
View Company ProfileAtlas Oncology Partners (operating at atlasoncpartners.com and atlasonc.com) is a value-based oncology care enablement platform engineered to bridge community oncology practices with whole-person supportive care. Founded in 2025 by Kate Barnard Roberts, Dr. David Johnson, and Dr. Gabrielle Rocque in collaboration with Rubicon Founders and headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, Atlas aligns financial incentives across payers, providers, and patients by assuming full medical cost risk for cancer populations. Rather than displacing existing oncologists, the platform embeds interdisciplinary extended care teams directly into local community practices—offering 24/7 symptom triage, care coordination, psychosocial support, advanced care planning, and on-site management of cancer-adjacent conditions. Under the hood, Atlas leverages an advanced health economics, actuarial, and analytics stack—including multi-scenario contract modeling and dynamic risk stratification—to negotiate outcomes-based contracts across Medicare Advantage and commercial plans. Backed by a $28M Series A led by Flare Capital Partners and Rubicon Founders, Atlas lowers non-drug total cost of care, prevents avoidable emergency room visits, and maximizes quality of life for patients undergoing active treatment.
