Position Overview

We are seeking a highly sophisticated, systems-minded Java Android Developer to join our core global Engineering division in a full-time remote capacity within the APAC region (open exclusively to qualified engineers residing inside Sri Lanka, Malaysia, or the Philippines). In this high-leverage mobile development seat, you will claim individual technical accountability for designing, developing, and maintaining native Android applications. Moving entirely past boilerplate layouts, you will translate complex product and design requirements into polished, performant mobile experiences while adhering strictly to platform conventions. This role demands a proactive product engineer who commands a strong understanding of object-oriented mobile programming, follows Material Design guidelines, manages local device data layers, and profiles app runtimes seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities

• Native Android Code Engineering: Develop, optimize, and maintain robust native Android applications, writing clean, well-structured code natively using Java while following platform design patterns.
• Material Design UI Curation: Build intuitive, accessible, and high-performance user interfaces natively following Material Design principles, utilizing XML layout structures or Jetpack Compose view registries.
• RESTful API Networking Integration: Integrate back-end server payloads natively using Retrofit and OkHttp libraries, gracefully handling network errors, timeout retries, and offline data sync scenarios.
• Local Data Persistence Governance: Manage relational data persistence layer schemas on the device using Room or SQLite data models, handling schema migrations and optimization queries.
• Firebase Cloud Telemetry Instrumentation: Embed and monitor push notifications, user analytics, remote configurations, and automated crash reporting pipelines via Firebase services, including FCM, Analytics, and Crashlytics.
• Automated Test Driven Validation: Write extensive, resilient unit and instrumented testing suites natively utilizing JUnit, Espresso, and Mockito to protect mobile apps against layout regressions across diverse hardware matrices.
• Runtime Performance Profiling: Profile and tune runtime performance metrics inside the Android Studio IDE, focusing relentlessly on hardware battery conservation, memory leak containment, and smooth 60fps UI rendering.
• Gradle Build Automation Management: Configure and manage Gradle build parameters, dependency resolution layers, and multi-flavor compilation scripts to ensure efficient deployment flows.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3+ years of verified professional history running native Android mobile application engineering, mobile systems development, or object-oriented software delivery.
• Proven commercial experience shipping published applications or managing significant professional mobile software project life cycles.
• Deep, authoritative technical command of the core Android SDK tooling architecture, standard device constraints, and the Gradle compilation workspace.
• Hands-on operational experience with Jetpack infrastructure frameworks, explicitly including ViewModel, LiveData, Navigation patterns, and WorkManager background task loops.
• Demonstrated proficiency implementing RESTful data ingestion layers natively utilizing **Retrofit and OkHttp** connection managers.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication mechanics in fluent English, with a proven history collaborating smoothly with technical and non-technical stakeholders across an asynchronous workspace framework.
• Location Context: Full-time operational parameters open exclusively to qualified mobile engineers based permanently anywhere within Sri Lanka, Malaysia, or the Philippines to execute 100% remotely from home.

• Prior background using automated continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines optimized for Google Play Console publication flows.
