This role is fully remote, with the requirement that you are based in Spain.
In this role, you’ll ensure Oyster meets its statutory Health & Safety obligations in Spain. You’ll lead the creation, implementation, and management of Oyster’s Internal Prevention Service (Servicio de Prevención Propio) in Spain, including risk assessments, investigations, and compliance reporting. Additionally, you’ll contribute to Oyster’s global Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) landscape, providing guidance, best practices, and strategic support.
Spain Occupational Risk Prevention & Compliance
Internal Prevention Service Management: Lead the creation, ongoing design, implementation, and management of Oyster’s Internal Prevention Service in Spain.
Risk Assessments & Investigations: Perform workplace and occupational risk assessments, and investigate work-related accidents and occupational illnesses.
H&S Subject Matter Expert & Escalations: Act as the primary expert for Spain-specific Health & Safety topics, resolving complex questions and issues.
Reporting & Advisory: Conduct health and safety reports, perform safety measurements, and advise the business on protective measures.
Regulatory Liaison: Provide counsel and representation during Labor Inspection visits and manage strategic relationships with HSE vendors.
Vendor Management: Manage vendor relationships related to workplace safety and compliance in Spain.
Global & Regional HSE Ownership
Policy & Strategy Collaboration: Collaborate on HSE policies, procedures, and best practices tailored for remote work.
Audits, Inspections & Committees: Lead global H&S audits and inspections, providing strategic support to H&S committees worldwide.
Global Assessment & Monitoring: Conduct regular remote risk assessments and implement mitigating measures.
Incident Management: Investigate and document global incidents, implementing corrective actions.
Regulatory Watch: Stay updated on global health and safety regulations and integrate safety considerations into remote work processes.
Global HSE Vendor Management
Escalation Management: Own relationships with key HSE and Compliance vendors, ensuring their capabilities align with Oyster’s needs.
Vendor Governance: Manage vendor lifecycle, performance, and documentation to ensure compliance and quality.
Expert Ownership: Act as a trusted point of contact for vendor-related issues and escalations.
Relationship Management: Strengthen processes and improve consistency and scalability with vendors.
Data & Feedback: Analyze performance and trends to identify improvements, leveraging AI and automation.
Stakeholder Support & Knowledge Sharing
Content & Training: Build content, documentation, and training resources for stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with cross-functional stakeholders and vendors, working closely with leadership.
Escalation Management: Support and manage escalations involving workplace safety concerns.
Projects
Project Leadership: Lead cross-functional projects as a subject matter expert on Health & Safety.
Continuous Improvement & High Performance
Continuous Improvement: Continuously audit and refine workflows to improve service quality.
AI & Automation: Leverage AI responsibly to maximize personal output.
Deflection & Enablement: Analyze recurring issues to build preventative resources for internal teams.
What We're Looking For
H&S Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of Spain’s occupational risk prevention regulations and experience managing an Internal Prevention Service.
Global Perspective: Experience or comfort level supporting health & safety frameworks across multiple countries in a remote environment.
Solution-Oriented: Pragmatic, commercially minded approach to compliance for a remote workforce.
Exceptional Communication: Strong communication skills for handling escalations and advising senior leadership.
Project Management Skills: Proven track record of driving cross-functional H&S initiatives.
Vendor Management Skills: Deep experience sourcing and implementing vendors in the HSE & Compliance space.
A bachelor's or university degree in environmental health, safety, or engineering, or a similar field.
A Master's degree in Occupational Risk Prevention with the three specializations.
Full English proficiency (C1 level or above).

[BONUS] Experience in a fast-paced, scaling global tech environment or startup.
[BONUS] Experience navigating international compliance or working within an Employer of Record (EOR) model.
