Head of Financial Controller

As Head of Financial Controller, you will own the full accounting function across Filigran's entities, including revenue recognition, consolidation, monthly and year-end close, and internal controls. You will act as the finance function's technical backbone, building the infrastructure, controls, and processes needed to support a fast-scaling, multi-entity, international organization.

You will report directly to the VP of Finance. The team is small, so this role demands both strategic ownership and significant hands-on execution.

💼 Your Responsibilities

General Accounting Operations

• Own the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all financial transactions across Filigran entities
• Continuously improve a scalable monthly/quarterly close process
• Ensure revenue recognition is correctly applied and documented

Multi-Entity Oversight

• Lead consolidation across Filigran's growing international entity structure (including new entity set-ups as the company expands)
• Partner with the VP of Finance on transfer pricing, intercompany transactions, and cross-border compliance matters

Controls, Risk & Governance

• Perform ongoing gap analyses of accounting processes and proactively design and implement internal controls and policies
• Manage the yearly financial audit end-to-end, acting as the primary point of contact for auditors
• Own the relationship with the external accounting firm, holding them to a high standard of accuracy and responsiveness

Systems & Scalability

• Identify opportunities to automate and streamline accounting workflows
• Build documentation that makes the accounting function auditable and transferable

Leadership & Cross-Functional Support

• Act as a thought partner to the VP of Finance on technical accounting matters and process design
• Manage a current team of 3 general accountants
• Grow the team to support scalability and growth
• Support ad hoc business requests, including finance topics adjacent to accounting (e.g., payroll coordination)

🔎 Preferred Experience

• 10+ years in accounting roles, including senior/lead or controller-level experience
• Strong knowledge of French accounting standards; exposure to multi-GAAP/consolidation environments is a strong plus
• Proven ability to build processes and internal controls from scratch in a fast-growing or scaling environment
• Comfortable operating with high autonomy and ambiguity; adapts quickly to change
• Prior people management experience
