Background
Nash is a logistics AI company that moves real things in the real world. Our platform plans, dispatches, and adjusts deliveries for brands like Walmart, 7-Eleven, Ahold Delhaize, and Square. Every decision it makes results in groceries, prescriptions, or dinner orders arriving at someone's door. Nash already dispatches to drones and autonomous vehicles alongside human drivers, through partners like Flytrex and Autolane. Most AI stories play out on a screen, but Nash's impact is seen in stores, on streets, and at front doors, making it more consequential and compelling when told well.
Backed by a16z and Y Combinator, Nash is pioneering a new category: autonomic logistics, which involves systems that plan, run, and continuously improve delivery operations on their own.
The Role
You'll be responsible for shaping how Nash is perceived externallyâacross press, analysts, internal teams, customer executives, and the broader market. Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer (with experience at Twilio, Plaid, Salesforce), you'll collaborate closely with the CEO on external communications and work within a small, senior, fast-moving team. This role is not about writing press releases on demand; itâs about positioning Nash as the leader in a category before it even has a Magic Quadrant.
What We're Looking For
Editorial judgment: You must distinguish between announcements weâd like to make and stories reporters want to cover, and identify the latter within the former.
Business fluency: You need to understand why grocers choose us and what technical buyers might push back on, as coverage only matters if it influences the deals Sales is pursuing next quarter.
Composure: When AI-driven logistics errors cause delays, you must have a crisis plan ready and ensure the right people know what to say.
AI-native craft: You should leverage tools like Claude to research reporters' past work, monitor key trends, and simulate hostile interviews with our CEO before major launches. Journalists can spot AI-generated content, so your research must be thorough, and your writing must sound human.
What You'll Do
- Own Nashâs corporate narrative across press, analysts, customers, partners, and internal teams, collaborating with Product Marketing on product positioning.
- Build a media program targeting business, technology, and trade press, including supply chain, retail, grocery, and autonomous delivery sectors.
- Develop analyst relations from the ground up, ensuring autonomic logistics becomes a well-defined category with Nash as the reference point.
- Prepare the CEO and senior leaders as spokespeople, each with a distinct voice and clear perspective.
- Manage internal communications to ensure the team hears critical news directly from us before reading it elsewhere.
- Turn customer wins into verifiable public proof, ensuring all figures can withstand scrutiny from reporters.
- Handle issues, crisis management, speaking engagements, awards, and agency relationships.
Requirements
- 7+ years in communications, with in-house leadership experience at a high-growth B2B technology company, or senior agency experience with a strong desire to transition in-house.
- Experience building or leading an analyst relations program for a complex enterprise platform.
- Established relationships with business, technology, and trade press, with a proven track record of securing coverage.
- Experience preparing C-level executives as spokespeople.
- Familiarity with using Claude (or equivalent LLMs) for research, preparation, and workflows beyond copy editing.
- Exceptional writing skills, strong opinions held loosely, and discretion to listen to all perspectives.
- Bonus: Experience on the analyst side, category creation in infrastructure, logistics, or autonomy, or a public writing presence.
- Location: Bay Area (hybrid) or US remote.
