Runpod is the AI Developer Cloud, serving over one million developers globally. The platform has processed more than 20 billion inference requests and recently closed a $100M Series A in June 2026. Runpod is at a pivotal stage in AI infrastructure, building the platform for the next generation of developers.

The company operates as a small, remote-first team, emphasizing ownership, speed, and impact at scale.

About the Role

Analytics at Runpod is part of the Data & AI team and serves as a strategic partner across the company. The team supports five core areas: marketing and PR, infrastructure and pricing, product, security, and sales. They transform Runpod’s operational data into actionable decisions, covering areas like acquisition, GPU-hour economics, product adoption, fraud detection, and revenue analytics.

As Head of Analytics and Business Intelligence, you will lead and grow Runpod’s analytics function, defining how the company measures itself and ensures insights reach decision-makers. You will manage a team of analysts and BI practitioners, set the analytics roadmap, and act as the senior analytics partner to Product, Supply, Finance, Engineering, Security, and Go-to-Market leadership.

Runpod’s business model is consumption-based and marketplace-driven, making analytics inherently complex. Demand-side revenue depends on GPU-hour utilization and workload mix across Pods, Serverless, and Instant Clusters, while supply-side economics depend on host behavior, capacity, and pricing. You will build the metric definitions, models, and self-serve layer to enable consistent reasoning about these dynamics. The analytics stack includes dbt and Dagster for transformation, Snowflake as the data warehouse, and Mode for BI.

You will shape how Runpod uses data to drive company-level decisions. This includes defining critical metrics, identifying business opportunities, building a scalable analytics operating model, and translating complex data into clear recommendations for executives and the board. The goal is to create an analytics function that not only responds to the business but helps lead it.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and grow a team of analysts and BI practitioners, including hiring, career development, prioritization, and raising the technical bar of the work.

  • Drive company strategy proactively from a data perspective by identifying data levers that can transform the business, quantifying opportunities, and delivering clear paths to action for leadership.

  • Own Runpod’s core metric layer, defining and maintaining consistent definitions for utilization, retention, net revenue retention, margin, and marketplace supply/demand health.

  • Set the analytics roadmap in partnership with Product, Finance, and GTM leadership, balancing recurring reporting needs with deeper analysis that changes decisions.

  • Drive analysis of consumption-based revenue and customer behavior, including cohort retention, expansion and churn on usage, savings plan adoption, spot vs. reserved mix, and serverless workload economics.

  • Build the self-serve analytics layer so stakeholders can answer routine questions independently, reserving the team's capacity for higher-judgment work.

  • Partner closely with Data Engineering on modeling, data quality, freshness, and SOC 2 requirements for the analytics platform.

  • Establish experimentation and measurement practices, including guardrails for interpreting results.

  • Represent analytics in executive and board-level reporting, translating ambiguous business questions into analysis and clear recommendations.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, or data science, including ownership of business-critical metrics with executive visibility.

  • 3+ years of experience managing analytics or BI teams, with a track record of hiring, developing, and retaining strong practitioners.

  • Deep hands-on fluency in SQL and modern analytics engineering practices, including dbt or equivalent, with enough warehouse expertise to make sound modeling and performance trade-offs.

  • Experience with usage-based, consumption, or marketplace business models and the metrics that govern them, including utilization, unit economics, expansion and contraction on usage, and two-sided supply and demand dynamics.

  • Demonstrated ability to define a metric layer from a messy starting point and drive organization-wide adoption.

  • Strong judgment and urgency, with the ability to determine when a fast, directionally correct answer is more valuable than a perfect answer delivered too late.

  • Ability to approach questions objectively, form a view from evidence and data, and optimize for what is best for the business.

  • Proven ability to thrive in startup environments as a proactive partner to the business.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to challenge assumptions with data while maintaining strong relationships.

  • Ability to work effectively across Product, Finance, Data Engineering, Security, Go-to-Market, and Supply.

  • Successful completion of a background check.

Preferred

  • Advanced degree in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent significant industry experience in analytics leadership.

Compensation and Benefits

  • The competitive base pay for this position ranges from $200,000 - $280,000 USD. This range may be inclusive of several career levels at Runpod and will be narrowed during the interview process based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.

  • Meaningful equity in a fast-growing company — your impact drives our growth, and you share in the upside.

  • Generous medical, dental, and vision plans — we cover 100% for all employees and partial for dependents.

  • Flexible PTO — take the time you need to recharge.

  • Most roles are remote work first with inclusive, collaborative teams utilizing Slack as the main form of internal communication.

  • Join a passionate team on the cutting edge of AI infrastructure — where culture, learning, and ownership are at the heart of how we scale.

  • $1,200 Home Office & Equipment Stipend — we set you up for success from day one with gear and support to create your ideal workspace.

RunPod is a premier, enterprise-grade GPU cloud platform engineered to orchestrate massive-scale AI/ML compute ecosystems and intelligent, frictionless infrastructure-delivery workflows. Operating as a developer-first, high-throughput cloud hub, the company eliminates the operational friction of traditional, legacy-cloud providers—which frequently lock users into rigid, overpriced, and manual-heavy compute models—by seamlessly deploying advanced serverless GPU telemetry, rigorous multi-region container-orchestration architectures, and cohesive cross-platform scaling frameworks. Moving beyond rigid legacy VM-based paradigms, RunPod empowers over 500,000 global developers, researchers, and Fortune 500 enterprises to dynamically synchronize their training, fine-tuning, and inference pipelines with elite, autonomous, and cost-effective execution. Under the hood, their sophisticated proprietary data infrastructure natively manages complex multi-node cluster ingestion (A100/H100/H200 architectures), instantaneous autoscaling endpoint routing, and automated ephemeral-pod management, providing the necessary operational foundation to support everything from individual experimental models to large-scale, trillion-parameter distributed training. What sets RunPod apart is its uncompromising dedication to frictionless compute orchestration; by bridging the gap between highly technical, performance-intensive GPU-infrastructure demands and accessible, low-latency deployment interfaces, the platform empowers modern AI-native organizations to radically accelerate their production-AI velocity, eliminate prohibitive infrastructure-management bottlenecks, and build an unassailable foundation for continuous commercial and institutional dominance in the modern, AI-transformed digital landscape.
