Monarch is looking for a Growth Product Designer (Senior/Staff) who is passionate about crafting high-quality user experiences and elevating the design of personal finance tools. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (including product, data, and engineering) to optimize onboarding and new user experience for our customers.

The role is on our Growth pod, which is one of 5 vertical pods at Monarch. The Growth team works on building product experiences that help Monarch reach more users and help those users through the path to financial success using Monarch. They focus on rapid experimentation, A/B testing, improving onboarding flow, and initiatives around customer engagement and retention.

What You'll Do:

• Design Excellence: Own end-to-end product and visual design, ensuring a high bar for UI/UX through detailed execution. Designers at Monarch care about the details without losing sight of the wider system they are designing within.

• Experimentation and User Research: Scope and run experiments, conduct research with customers, test prototypes, and refine UX based on insights.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product and engineering teams to define features, work through technical constraints, iterate on designs, and ensure seamless handoff and implementation of designs.

• Strategic Impact: Within your first 90 days, get up to speed with Monarch’s design system and take ownership of new product design projects that enhance our new members’ experience.

What You'll Bring:

• Experience: 4+ years designing across mobile and web at a consumer-focused company.

• Design Mastery: Strong visual design skills, attention to detail, and a systems-thinking approach.

• Collaboration: Comfortable working closely with founders, product managers, and engineers in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

• Innovative Thinking: Experience designing both experiments and 0-1 end-to-end experiences.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Can work autonomously and proactively flag when they are stuck. Can determine and work with appropriate velocity based on the size of project.

• Can instinctively choose the right tool for the job—whether it’s Figma, Claude design, or code—and often jumps between them.

• Is excited by learning and trying new things in a rapidly changing industry.

• Have familiarity with paid and organic marketing channel processes.
