Government Affairs Manager

SentiLink stops over 150,000 fraud attempts and verifies 3 million identities daily, protecting consumers and institutions. This Government Affairs Manager role is based in Washington, DC, and focuses on federal and state advocacy for identity verification and fraud prevention.

Role Overview:

SentiLink is expanding its government affairs work and seeks a policy-savvy Government Affairs Manager to lead advocacy strategy with Congress, federal regulators, and industry coalitions. You’ll shape policy initiatives, direct lobbyists, and collaborate with Public Sector sales, marketing, and executive leadership to support SentiLink’s mission.

This role offers real ownership, setting the strategy for federal and state lobbyists, ensuring advocacy stays sharp, and enabling effective engagement with stakeholders.

You’ll report to the Head of Public Policy & External Affairs and inherit a well-defined function with clear priorities, with the expectation to expand it.

Frequent in-person engagement with stakeholders in the DC area, including Capitol Hill (House and Senate, Republicans and Democrats), federal agencies, and industry events is required.

Responsibilities:

• Lead day-to-day federal advocacy, building and maintaining relationships across Congressional offices in both parties and chambers, with a focus on Financial Services/Banking, Ways and Means/Finance, and Appropriations committees.
• Direct SentiLink’s bench of contracted federal and state lobbyists, setting priorities and engagement cadence, and translating their work into budget-cycle and procurement insights for Public Sector sales.
• Serve as a trusted resource on policy issues related to identity verification, fraud prevention, and financial services, supporting Public Sector sales cycles (RFP language, identity standards, procurement timing).
• Lead engagement with trade associations and coalitions (RDA, ETA, CBA, ABA, and similar), managing SentiLink’s participation and extracting more value from memberships.
• Build a state-level ability to monitor and report on legislative and regulatory developments related to data brokers, privacy, and identity.
• Prepare briefing materials, talking points, and represent SentiLink in meetings, hearings, roundtables, and industry events.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience in public policy, government relations, or legislative affairs, ideally with time on Capitol Hill, at a trade association, or in a regulated fintech/financial services environment.
• Working knowledge of federal legislative and regulatory processes, especially related to financial services or identity, and the ability to quickly grasp state-level processes.
• Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills with bipartisan credibility, capable of building relationships across the aisle, House, and Senate.
• Excellent writing and public speaking ability, comfortable drafting comment letters, testimony, and briefing memos, and representing SentiLink in front of policymakers.
• Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data.
• A proactive, self-starting mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment.
• Genuine interest in developing expertise in fraud, identity, privacy, and data policy.

Bonus Points:

• Familiarity with state legislative tracking tools.
• Experience with public sector sales cycles or government procurement.
• Background in identity verification, fraud prevention, or tech policy.
