Aurora is on a mission to create a future of solar for all. Our award-winning software puts the power of data and technology into the hands of every solar professional to make solar adoption simple and predictable. Our software has designed millions of solar projects so far, empowering solar companies to sell, design, and install residential and commercial solar arrays accurately, seamlessly, and at scale.

About the Team

Our FP&A team drives some of Aurora's most important work—the budgeting, forecasting, and financial analyses that shape the financial future and strategic direction of the business. We're a small, high-performing team that owns the company's annual and quarterly financial planning cycles end-to-end, partners with leaders across the company, and pushes past reporting the numbers to actually driving action from them. We operate with direct exposure to the VP of Finance and CEO.

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated FP&A Manager who is passionate about driving the business forward through actionable insights. In this highly visible role, you’ll act as a strategic partner to our Leaders and cross-function stakeholders across the company. This role will drive operating efficiency for both the finance function and the company as a whole, play a critical role in executing the annual budgeting and recurring forecasting processes, perform ad-hoc analysis to uncover opportunities, and have ownership over our financial planning platform (Pigment).

Your Impact

  • Partner with and support strategic discussions with cross-functional stakeholders—help influence effective decision-making by providing valuable insights and building trust.

  • Own end-to-end monthly, quarterly, and annual FP&A processes (e.g., budgeting/forecasting, Board reporting, Business Valuation Analyses) for your areas of focus.

  • Own the administration and continued evolution of Pigment, our financial planning platform—from data model design and system integrations to building new forecast models and streamlining the ones already in place.

  • Collaborate with Finance peers to track performance metrics and KPIs to monitor business results and to drive stakeholder engagement and accountability.

  • Simplify, streamline, and automate FP&A processes, as well as make full use of forecasting and financial system capabilities that will allow us to continue to scale rapidly and globally.

  • Highlight strategic opportunities to improve the way we operate, increase revenue, or decrease costs.

What You Bring

  • Strong financial modeling—experience building and maintaining driver-based models.

  • Experience owning a financial planning tool.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels throughout the company.

  • Ability to translate model output into compelling narrative summaries for leadership and the Board of Directors.

  • Ability to prioritize objectives in a fast-paced, high-performing environment.

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy, coupled with the ability to follow-through.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of SaaS business models.

  • Strong understanding of financial statements and GAAP.

Nice to Haves

  • Direct experience as a Pigment admin.

  • Experience with usage-based or consumption metrics and modeling.

  • Experience with data systems and/or Python, SQL, or JavaScript.

  • Executive presence (i.e., comfort presenting directly to VP/C-suite stakeholders).

What We Offer

  • Flexible PTO

  • Parental Leave

  • WFH Stipend

  • Coworking Stipend

  • Energize Fridays

  • Connectivity Stipend

  • Learning & Development

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision

Aurora Solar (operating at aurorasolar.com) is a cloud-based solar and storage software platform engineered for streamlining residential photovoltaic (PV) projects. Founded in 2013 by co-founders Christopher Hopper and Samuel Adeyemo and headquartered in San Francisco, Aurora Solar revolutionizes the solar industry by automating the design, sales, financing, and delivery of residential PV systems—eliminating manual processes and reducing errors. Under the hood, the platform leverages aerial imagery, 3D modeling, and AI-driven analytics to generate precise solar system designs in minutes, even from a customer’s address and electric bill. This allows solar installers and companies to accelerate sales cycles, reduce operational costs, and deliver tailored financing options to homeowners. Backed by a $523.5M funding round across four rounds and valued at $4B, Aurora Solar has become the industry’s leading software solution, facilitating over 100,000 PV designs weekly.
