Position Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical, systems-minded Forward Deployed Engineer (Agentic AI Specialist) to join our core centralized Technology division in a permanent, full-time capacity base-stationed within Nagoya, Japan (Job Requisition ID: R1575). Launching a pioneering high-impact engagement model across the Japanese market, this high-leverage architectural seat requires a rare blend of a highly skilled engineer, an agile prototyper, and a polished IT consultant who takes true ownership of strategic client missions. Shifting completely away from traditional hands-off consulting or passive professional services, you will embed directly within customer operations, practicing a *Gemba*-centric philosophy to solve complex business friction points. This position requires an enterprise platform veteran with a proven track record in Forward-Deployed Engineering or Solutions Architecture who designs Agentic AI layouts fluidly, structures multi-tier data ingestion pipelines smoothly, and communicates natively in Japanese (including business Keigo) alongside business-level English to connect field insights directly with our global engineering labs.
Key Responsibilities
- Gemba-Centric Deep Customer Embedding: Operate as a dedicated, trusted technical partner embedded directly on-site within strategic customer teams in the Nagoya/Chubu region, uncovering, parsing, and scoping complex enterprise business constraints natively utilizing AI Engineer alignment practices.
- High-Impact Agentic AI Adoption Governance: Champion the adoption of OutSystems’ Agentic AI capabilities, leading strategic discussions on “what to build and why” to turn highly ambiguous business challenges into high-value autonomous agent networks.
- AI-Native Prototyping and Delivery: Execute rapid prototyping and agile feature implementation loops natively leveraging Prompt Engineering guidelines, integrating advanced machine learning, large language model (LLM) workflows, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) modules into the core of client workflows.
- Enterprise Data Engineering and Ingestion Curation: Prepare, clean, and structure massive enterprise data architectures—encompassing unstructured and semi-structured datasets—to optimize them specifically for AI/ML query ingestion and low-latency response patterns.
- Executive Stakeholder Transformation Leadership: Lead technical alignment discussions and build deep relationships with corporate executives, IT directors, and operational leaders, translating complex algorithmic models into business-relevant ROI metrics.
- Sovereign AI Governance and Guardrails Hardening: Adapt, audit, and secure client cloud application layers to guarantee continuous alignment with data privacy laws, enterprise security frameworks, and local Japanese compliance requirements.
- Strategic Business Development Landings: Partner closely with internal OutSystems Account Teams to identify operational expansion vectors, successfully converting initial successful implementations into widespread, long-term enterprise adoption stories.
- Global Product Feedback Loop Publication: Act as a direct field extension of our global Product and Engineering teams, synthesizing unique localized Japanese market technical feedback into actionable scannable data briefs to guide the macro product roadmap.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven professional history running advanced forward-deployed engineering, enterprise solutions architecture, high-stakes technical IT consulting, machine learning systems development, or digital transformation consulting.
- Deep, authoritative technical command of AI-agent building blocks, large language model (LLM) orchestration frameworks, vector databases, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and complex enterprise API integrations.
- Expert-tier background constructing functional software mockups, handling data serialization, and deploying enterprise-grade machine automation channels natively utilizing AI Engineer tools.
- Practical operational familiarity organizing semantic vectors, optimizing prompt contextual weights, and training customized classification filters natively using Prompt Engineering rules.
- Demonstrated history navigating complex enterprise security constraints, data governance requirements, guardrail implementations, and local regulatory criteria.
- Mandatory Corporate Bilingual Linguistic Capabilities: Native-level or bilingual fluency in written and verbal **Japanese**, demonstrating the absolute capacity to communicate technical complexities clearly and respectfully (utilizing accurate **Keigo** mechanics) to traditional corporate clients; coupled with business-level **English** fluency to connect effectively with international product labs.
- Location Context and Workspace Flexibility: Position open exclusively to qualified engineers residing within or willing to work consistently on-site with enterprise customers in the **Nagoya/Chubu region, Japan**, under a high-autonomy localized hybrid layout.
