Position Overview

We are hiring a very small number of exceptional engineers. We are not trying to fill seats—we are trying to raise the average. If you join, the bar for everyone after you goes up. This role is for people who ship fast and ship well, and who have already proven they can do that when the stakes and the pace were highest. If that you, the rest of this will read as an invitation rather than a wishlist. Operating as a premier individual contributor within our core engineering group, you will claim true individual operational and strategic accountability over scaling distributed data pipelines, core telemetry storage nodes, and open-source backend abstractions. Shifting completely away from routine single-page application template styling, minor non-technical feature ticket administration, or slow administrative coordinating loops, you will run an active developer requirements harvesting, API structure auditing, and high-cardinality data exploration laboratory—partnering face-to-face with open-source power users, senior SREs, and internal core engineering squads. This position requires an engineering veteran who maps out scalable backend systems fluidly natively using Backend methodologies, evaluates complex infrastructure topologies cleanly natively leveraging data systems architecture knowledge, and commands deep developer-focused product lifecycles confidently under hyper-growth global scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Core Telemetry Architecture: Formulate, design, and optimize the end-to-end data pipelines and ingestion engines—governing high-concurrency log streams, trace data parsing, and metric aggregation rules to provide deep, real-time developer system insights.
• High-Scale Infrastructure Optimization: Refactor and optimize core storage architectures and indices to scale efficiently over high-cardinality, petabyte-scale datasets without compromising real-time query latency.
• Product Craft and Speed Execution: Combine rapid development velocities with rigid software craft, shipping bulletproof, production-grade features quickly without creating engineering debt or messy abstractions natively utilizing Backend methodologies.
• Production System Root-Cause Triage: Step up to systematically own and debug highly ambiguous, high-stakes infrastructure issues live in production, tracing failures to their root structural causes regardless of code origin.
• Technical Taste and Standard Governance: Maintain uncompromised technical standards regarding internal data abstractions, network configurations, and database query paths, adjusting strategies dynamically based on data-driven evidence.
• Open-Source Ecosystem Support: Participate actively within our global open-source community, evaluating user pull requests, guiding developer integrations, and shaping core platform standards transparently.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven history operating in the top tier of backend or systems engineering environments, establishing yourself as the primary authority peers lean on when systems are ambiguous or on fire.
• Demonstrated record of core engineering ownership over distributed software architectures that successfully migrated from localized footprints into high-scale production setups serving millions of users.
• Expert-tier capability modeling high-performance data systems, managing asynchronous network runtime states, and building scalable API pathways cleanly natively utilizing Backend paradigms.
• Deep, practical working familiarity managing, tuning, or querying large-scale database systems, analytical datastores, or transactional stream networks natively using Backend tools.
• Strong technical taste regarding code readability, structural patterns, and architectural tradeoffs, combined with the professional humility to pivot directions when faced with data.
• Location Context: Position open strictly to outstanding software engineers located and resident permanently within India to execute a highly autonomous, work-from-home remote track.

Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)

• Prior engineering background operating within the core team of a hyper-growth, venture-backed developer tools or infrastructure-as-code startup.
• Direct domain exposure running observability tools, application performance monitoring (APM), cluster logging, or distributed tracing engines.
• Hands-on system familiarity dealing with the OpenTelemetry (OTel) specification, ClickHouse databases, Kafka streaming meshes, or Kubernetes container arrays.
• An active history of publishing technical side-projects, contributing to open-source developer tool repositories, or engaging inside cutting-edge platform forums.
