About the Position
Energy Exemplar is looking for an ambitious enterprise sales professional who thrives on opening doors, building pipeline, and winning new customers. Owning Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, you will drive new-logo growth in a strategically important region, helping energy organizations make better decisions through market simulation, modeling, and analytics.
Reporting to the Regional Sales Director, you will have ownership of your territory and the full sales cycle. From identifying your next target account to securing executive engagement and closing complex enterprise agreements, you will turn market opportunity into revenue. Your customers will include utilities, power producers, renewable developers, and network operators facing some of the energy sectorâs most significant commercial challenges.
This role requires a hunter who creates opportunities, challenging established thinking and earning a place at the decision-making table. You will combine a clear territory strategy with consistent, hands-on prospecting, building your own pipeline and maintaining the momentum needed to win competitive deals.
Responsibilities
- Win new customers: Take accountability for new-logo acquisition across DACH, consistently achieving or exceeding individual sales targets.
- Build your own pipeline: Proactively generate opportunities through targeted outbound prospecting, executive outreach, networking, referrals, and industry events.
- Own your territory: Develop and execute a focused territory strategy, prioritizing accounts, market segments, and buying centers with the strongest growth potential.
- Create demand: Engage prospective customers, uncover unmet needs, and establish a compelling reason to act.
- Lead deals from first contact to close: Own discovery, qualification, proposals, technical evaluations, commercial negotiations, and contract signature.
- Sell measurable business value: Connect Energy Exemplarâs capabilities to customer priorities, quantify commercial impact, and build business cases that secure investment.
- Build executive relationships: Gain access to senior decision-makers, develop internal champions, and build relationships across commercial, technical, and procurement teams.
- Drive deal momentum: Establish clear next steps, navigate complex buying processes, and address objections, competitive pressure, and barriers to close.
- Bring the right expertise into each opportunity: Coordinate Solutions and technical specialists to deliver tailored demonstrations, trials, and proof-of-value engagements.
- Maintain sales discipline: Apply structured qualification, keep opportunity plans and CRM records current, and deliver accurate forecasts.
- Travel regularly across DACH to build relationships, develop opportunities, and close business.
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications
- A proven enterprise software sales hunter with a strong record of winning new logos and achieving or exceeding individual revenue targets.
- Demonstrated ability to build your own pipeline through proactive prospecting and convert opportunities into closed business.
- Experience selling complex software, modeling, analytics, or data solutions, ideally into the energy sector.
- Experience developing business across DACH, with the ability to identify target accounts, establish credibility, and build regional market presence.
- Success leading complex enterprise sales cycles involving executive stakeholders, technical evaluations, procurement, and commercial negotiations.
- A strong understanding of the DACH energy landscape, ideally with experience selling to utilities, power producers, traders, renewable developers, or network operators.
- The confidence to open doors, ask challenging questions, and engage senior leaders in conversations about business priorities and investment.
- Strong consultative selling skills, with the ability to translate technical capabilities into measurable commercial value.
- Experience using a structured sales methodology, with disciplined qualification, account planning, pipeline management, and forecasting.
- Resilience, curiosity, and a competitive drive to win, supported by sound judgment and consistent follow-through.
- The initiative to operate autonomously and the ability to bring cross-functional colleagues together to progress and close opportunities.
- Professional fluency in German and English.
- Willingness to travel regularly across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
- Bachelorâs degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
