About the Role

The Tradeify Platform team owns the backend and infrastructure supporting trading accounts, evaluations, third-party integrations, and APIs used by other teams (including product surfaces like Arcnine). This is a live, revenue-generating system, not a greenfield build.

We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead this team. You'll partner closely with Product, Data, and Engineering teams to ensure reliability, speed, and scalability while extending the platform for new integrations and features. This is a remote role reporting to the CTO.

What You Will Do

• Hire, onboard, and grow a team of backend and full-stack engineers.

• Run regular 1:1s, set clear goals, and provide direct, useful feedback.

• Own performance management, including calibration and hard conversations when needed.

• Partner with Product to scope and prioritize platform and integration work.

• Guide architecture decisions for scalable APIs, backend services, and microservices supporting integrations with NinjaTrader, Tradovate, and others.

• Stay hands-on with the code: review pull requests, contribute to design docs, and unblock engineers on complex problems.

• Own delivery, including sprint planning, progress tracking, and realistic commitments for a live production system.

• Drive up code quality, testing standards, and CI/CD practices across the team.

• Ensure production reliability and observability, and lead incident response for critical systems.

• Contribute to engineering standards and hiring practices at Tradeify.

• Help shape broader engineering team hiring, onboarding, and operations.

• Represent the platform team’s work, constraints, and technical debt tradeoffs in cross-functional planning.

What You Bring

• Prior experience managing or leading engineers, combined with hands-on engineering experience.

• Full-stack or backend engineering background with expertise in React, Next.js, or Vue (frontend) and Python, Node.js, C#, or Go (backend).

• Experience with REST APIs, WebSocket services, and third-party platform integrations.

• Familiarity with relational and/or in-memory data stores like PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, or MongoDB.

• Experience running production systems on AWS, GCP, or Azure with Docker/Kubernetes.

• Comfort operating and scaling distributed systems already in production.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Background in fintech, trading, or crypto.

• Experience with real-time systems and event-driven architectures (Kafka, NATS, or Pulsar).

• Familiarity with TimescaleDB or ClickHouse.

• Experience managing platform or infrastructure teams supporting other product teams.

• Experience managing teams using AI-assisted development tools.
