Meade has a job opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer II to be an integral member of our design team. The scope of projects will include data centers, industrial buildings, offices, and other high-profile construction projects. This role will be highly collaborative amongst MEI staff, clients, vendors, and external disciplines. Travel to job sites may be required for site observations and client meetings.

Job Duties:

  • Responsible for designing electrical systems and performing design calculations.
  • Review, signing, and sealing of projects.
  • Review submittals, RFIs, change orders; preparation of record drawings, site visits, inspections, and participation in commissioning work.
  • Writing and editing of electrical equipment specifications, selecting equipment, electrical systems, and devices.
  • Ensure jobs are completed accurately, within deadlines, and on budget.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Electrical Engineering design experience in the construction industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Electrical P.E. license or Engineering in Training certification preferred.
  • Experience designing power systems for data centers, commercial offices, manufacturing facilities, medical buildings, or other large commercial projects.
  • Experience working independently, managing priorities, and providing mentorship to junior staff.
  • Strong understanding of National and International Building Codes and NFPA Standards.
  • Advanced knowledge of equipment power requirements, including large-scale standby and emergency power systems, including interactive generator control systems.
  • Experience producing Protective Device Coordination and Arc Flash studies is preferred.
  • Experience with Medium Voltage equipment selection and specifications is preferred.
  • Ability to think strategically and demonstrate flexibility to achieve long-range objectives.
  • Self-motivated, comfortable with ambiguity, and motivated to work as a team.
  • Top-notch organization, attention to detail combined with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, BlueBeam, BIM, and Revit.
