Position Overview
A District Manager (DM) is a senior-level Territory Sales Manager that assists in the mid-level management of their assigned territory and with the supervision and guidance of all TSMs (Territory Sales Managers) within that territory. They are expected to work closely with their Regional Manager. District Managers will assist their Regional Manager with managing their distributors – this means attending large and small format meetings, and reviewing reports generated by the distributor and/or their regional coordinator.
Responsibilities
- Check in and out on the sales app daily.
- Log and track every visited account on the sales app.
- Track all sales activities in the Field Sales CRM application.
- Physically visit accounts in the trade for 5 days each week.
- Ride along with a TSM/distributor rep in the territory one day each week. Conduct random audits.
- Visit a minimum of 40 accounts weekly and meet quarterly KPIs.
- Place POS, reset vaults, sell cases, cold equipment, displays, and send SOS compliance messages daily.
- Attend sales meetings and distributor meetings.
- Maintain constant communication with TSMs, UGMs (Unit General Managers), and Regional Manager.
- Keep updated distributor contact lists, route lists, call day reports, and account reports.
- Schedule and attend local launch meetings, presenting blitz launches and other materials.
- Meet with TSMs daily/weekly and USM (Unit Sales Manager) at least twice a month.
- Communicate market analysis with distributors and maintain relationships between distributors and TSMs.
- Training new hire reps and conducting secondary/follow-up interviews.
- Supporting regional with weekly newsletters to distributor branches.
- Conducting random chain audits and reporting back to sales coordinators/regional manager.
- Forecasting product for innovation launches and maintaining POS allotments.
- Occasionally assisting sales ops team and regional manager with weekly performance calls.
Requirements
- Proficiency in using sales apps and CRM applications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
- Willingness to travel and work in the field regularly.
- Experience in conducting audits and analyzing market data.
- Familiarity with sales forecasting and inventory management.
- Previous experience in sales, preferably in the beverage industry.
- Capability to build and maintain strong relationships with distributors and sales teams.
