The role of Director or Senior Director of Product at Viz.ai is at the intersection of oncology, product, commercial strategy, AI, and customer experience. Viz.ai is the leader in building and deploying AI-powered Care Pathways, trusted by 2,000 hospitals across the United States and ranked the #1 Healthcare AI Platform by hospitals and health systems in the Black Book Research survey.

You will define, build, and scale the next generation of oncology products, translating unmet needs into products that clinicians love, customers buy, and ultimately help more patients access lifesaving treatments.

What You'll Own

Define the Oncology Product Strategy

  • Build a differentiated oncology product strategy grounded in customer needs, market opportunity, competitive dynamics, and Viz’s unique strengths, informed by deep relationships with oncology KOLs, clinicians, and health-system leaders.
  • Identify unmet needs and market gaps where technology can improve patient care and create commercial value, translating them into business cases for leadership.
  • Engage directly with customers and users, maintaining a current view of competitors, emerging technology, and evolving oncology care models.

Build Products People Actually Use

  • Own products end-to-end, from insight and concept through requirements, launch, adoption, and optimization, writing PRDs that connect user problems, requirements, and business rationale.
  • Partner with Design, Engineering, and Inbound Product Management to build intuitive, clinically meaningful products that align with the broader Viz platform.
  • Use modern AI-native tools (e.g., Figma Make, Claude Code, Claude Design) to test ideas directly with customers before committing engineering resources.

Drive Go-to-Market in Partnership with BD, Commercial & Clinical

  • Partner with BD, Commercial, Sales, and Product Marketing to build go-to-market strategy, articulate value propositions, and identify lighthouse customers and design partners.
  • Ensure go-to-market claims and positioning are clinically sound by collaborating with Clinical and the Chief Medical Officer.
  • Define and monitor metrics across adoption, engagement, customer value, commercial performance, and patient impact.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of oncology-adjacent healthcare experience (clinical, commercial, diagnostics, or life sciences), with a deep understanding of the oncology ecosystem and clinical workflows.
  • 5+ years of product management experience building and launching complex healthcare, software, AI, or technology products.
  • A highly commercial mindset, comfortable sizing markets, understanding buyers, and connecting product decisions to revenue and growth.
  • Strong relationships within the oncology ecosystem or the ability to rapidly build credibility with leading clinicians and KOLs.
  • A strong understanding of modern AI products and enthusiasm for agentic, AI-native development, comfortable prototyping ideas.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to move fluidly between clinicians, engineers, commercial teams, executives, and customers.
  • Comfortable making decisions with incomplete information in areas with no established playbook.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Oncology clinical licensure (MD, APP/PA/NP, or RN with oncology specialization).
  • Experience with oncology-specific EHR or workflow systems (e.g., Epic Beacon, iKnowMed, ARIA).
  • Experience with life sciences or pharma partnership models in oncology.
  • Advanced degree (MD, MBA, or MPH).

How We Think About Product

Viz.ai believes great healthcare products start with the patient but succeed by deeply understanding the people responsible for delivering their care. The ideal candidate is obsessive about engagement, ensuring products fit naturally into clinical workflows and are clinically meaningful.

The strongest candidates move seamlessly between conversations—from clinicians explaining workflow breakdowns, to customers explaining the importance of solutions, to BD and Clinical partners shaping go-to-market plans, to leadership teams hearing business cases.

This is an opportunity to build first-of-kind products in an environment where the answers don’t already exist. The mission is to increase access to lifesaving treatments and build products that improve care for people with cancer.
