What You’ll Do

Lead Insurance Strategy

  • Design and execute Meridio’s insurance product roadmap.

  • Negotiate with carriers to secure competitive rates and terms.

  • Build strong relationships with carriers, TPAs, and other partners.

Drive Customer Innovation & Advocacy

  • Educate and empower our team to help clients make strategic decisions.

  • Mentor internal teams on insurance best practices.

  • Partner with Sales, Client Success, and Product to simplify the customer experience and strengthen client outcomes.

Ensure Rock-Solid Compliance

  • Stay ahead of ACA, ERISA, and state and federal regulations.

  • Create scalable processes that ensure compliance without slowing us down.

  • Lead audits, manage regulatory filings, and oversee licensing renewals for Meridio and our licensed guides.

  • Contribute to Meridio’s broader compliance and risk management efforts as the company grows.

What Success Looks Like in Your First 12 Months

  • Revamp and expand Meridio’s insurance lines during the first half of 2027.

  • Improve benefit value by at least 15% across our products.

  • Maintain 100% compliance with filings, audits, and licensing renewals.

  • Earn positive feedback from clients on insurance guidance and education.

About You

You’re someone who:

  • Gets excited about making insurance simple.

  • Sees regulations as puzzles to solve, not obstacles to avoid.

  • Believes small businesses deserve access to the same quality benefits as larger companies.

  • Builds trust easily with clients, carriers, and vendors.

  • Knows when to push carriers and when to collaborate.

  • Can explain complex topics like stop-loss insurance in plain English.

  • Thrives in a fast-moving, remote environment.

  • Is comfortable rolling up your sleeves and building processes from the ground up.

What You Bring

  • 7–10 years of experience in health insurance or employee benefits.

  • Deep knowledge of group health plans and regulations.

  • Experience negotiating with carriers and TPAs.

  • A track record of launching and scaling insurance products.

  • A strong understanding of ACA, ERISA, and state insurance laws.

  • Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills.

  • The ability to translate “insurance-speak” into language anyone can understand.

Bonus Points For

  • Experience with level-funded, self-funded, or captive health plans.

  • Knowledge of reimbursement arrangements.

  • An active insurance broker license.

  • An actuarial background.

  • Experience at a benefits or insurtech startup.

  • An MBA or other relevant graduate degree.
