Creative Milkshake is a remote-first performance creative agency specializing in scroll-stopping short-form ads for DTC brands on Meta and TikTok. Their portfolio includes high-volume, fast-moving content designed to convert.

The agency operates as a close-knit team of approximately 34 people across the Netherlands, Philippines, South Africa, Spain, and beyond. Recently joining the Fieldtrip group, they are experiencing growth in ambition, capability, and the complexity of their client base.

The Amsterdam studio serves as the creative heart of their production operation. Over the next 1–2 years, they are expanding from UGC-first content toward elevated branded formats, and this role is central to maintaining and raising the quality bar as they scale.

The Role

Creative Milkshake produces a significant amount of content. Across their portfolio of DTC clients, their studio shoots and edits dozens of UGC ads every week. The difference between good and great content lies in specific elements: the hook that stops the scroll, the edit that holds attention, and the subtle details that make content feel native rather than forced. This role focuses on these aspects.

They are seeking a Creative Lead (Social & UGC) to act as the final creative eye before work reaches clients. This individual will review raw footage, storyboards, and final edits, providing specific, hands-on feedback that improves the work rather than merely flagging problems.

The ideal candidate has made content themselves, understands the process from set to edit, and knows what it takes to create a 15-second video that engages viewers.

Timezone Preference

Candidates must be based within ±3 hours of the Central European Time (CET) zone.

What You’ll Do

Hold the Creative Quality Bar

  • Review storyboards, raw footage when necessary, and final edits before client submission.
  • Act as the quality gate: clearly identify what isn’t ready and explain exactly what needs to change and why.
  • Build and maintain an ad example library, creative checklists, and guides on what constitutes good content to codify instincts into learnable resources.
  • Identify recurring patterns such as ineffective editing habits, storyboard mistakes, and hooks that aren’t landing, addressing them at the root level.

Give Hands-on Creative Direction in Post

  • Review raw footage post-shoot and provide clear direction on what’s usable, what’s not, and what improvements can be made.
  • Give precise editing feedback on pacing, cut points, text overlays, sound design, and other craft elements that elevate edits.
  • Understand design fundamentals to provide direction on static assets, thumbnail frames, and text treatments that are effective on mobile screens.
  • Know what a 9:16 UGC ad needs to achieve in the first 2 seconds and articulate these requirements clearly to editors.

Support Production with a Creative Eye

  • Review storyboards pre-shoot to flag what isn’t shootable as written, missing talent or set requirements, and misalignments between briefs and concepts.
  • Provide production teams with creative context to prepare for shoots, including what angles matter, what the edit will need, and what constitutes good quality for specific formats and brands.
  • Periodically join shoots at the Amsterdam studio (approximately 3 times a year) when creative stakes are high or new formats are being tested.
  • Help build a visual reference library for the studio, documenting set styles, lighting setups, and shooting approaches that produce versatile footage.

Drive Platform and Content Intelligence

  • Maintain a genuine, current relationship with TikTok, Meta, and emerging short-form platforms, scrolling with a critical eye.
  • Curate a regular inspiration feed for the team, including specific content examples with notes on why they work, craft decisions, and how similar content could be produced in-house.
  • Determine the difference between formats worth adopting and trends worth skipping, and make informed recommendations.
  • Bring fresh creative references to the team when their output starts feeling formulaic or dated.

Build the Team’s Creative Instinct

  • Provide Creative Strategists with feedback on Creatives Story Points (CSPs) and scripts that builds their creative eye over time.
  • Conduct regular creative review sessions and inspiration shares to create a shared language for what “good” means at Creative Milkshake.
  • Serve as the team’s go-to person for creative feedback when they are unsure if their work is ready.

Own CM’s Creative Identity Externally

  • Approve Creative Milkshake’s own social content and website portfolio, ensuring it reflects the high standards set for clients.
  • Help define and document Creative Milkshake’s creative POV over time, including format instincts, aesthetic signatures, and elements that make their content uniquely recognizable.
