Mission of the Role

The objective of this position is to deliver the ProfitCoach Experience (owning the outcome, ease of doing business, and extraordinary service) to ProfitCoach clients through quality assurance reviews, client relationship and account management that delivers accurate, timely, and efficient full-service accounting, while also maintaining an awareness of the unique needs and profit-growing/stewardship opportunities of each individual client.

Job Purpose

The purpose of the Corporate Accounting Specialist is to “Own the Outcome” of certain aspects of our monthly financial review process for our accounting clients. As well as assist in any activities related to bank feed updates, bank reconciliations, payroll recording, client communications, and client accounting clean-up projects.



Requirements

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accounting Cleanup: assist with clean-up and review of the following items as requested by other team members:
    • Revenue coding
    • Payroll
    • Balance sheet accounts
    • Strong familiarity with accounting best practices
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Efficient (fast) at identifying and resolving issues
  • Monthly Financial Review:
    • Collaborator on financial close as needed, helping to ensure clients books from the past month are closed by the committed upon deadline each month
    • Owning the monthly financial review for a number of clients, and as new clients come on board
    • Review and suggest efficiency improvements for the financial close process
  • Bank Feeds:
    • Review, code, and match transactions
    • Identify trends and suggest rules
    • Research and flag unknown transactions
  • Ad hoc projects & small project management
    • Assist with new client clean up work
    • Own the Outcome of complex problem solving, research, and drafting questions to clients
    • Display ability to communicate and keep team and client up-to-date
    • Deliver the ProfitCoach Experience throughout projects as they come up
  • Inbox oversight and email review, assist other team members with client email and slack communications

Required Qualifications:

  • Background in Accounting or proven understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
  • Good written communication
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Able to understand new concepts with written and hands-on support
  • Experience in Quickbooks Online (QBO)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Xero
  • Understanding of property management accounting
  • Familiarity with the NARPM Standard Chart of Accounts
  • Experience in AppFolio, navigating to reports
  • Payroll processing and payroll tax filing experience
  • Prior experience with financial auditing or financial review
