We're looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) to be part of the fast-paced xDR team. As a BDR at Algolia, you will play a critical role prospecting and expanding business opportunities across our Sales teams. You will take part in a wide variety of responsibilities that will help foster, qualify, and mature our pipeline with high-profile prospects and customers.
You will have the unique opportunity to work cross-functionally within a high-paced Global xDR Org. You will be reporting directly to a Regional xDR Manager or Team Lead.
The BDR is adaptable, energetic, self-motivated, has a growth mindset, is an outcome and result-driven member of our Business Development team. They are responsible for responding to inbound requests from the assigned accounts, to agreed SLA’s, as well as proactively outbounding to their target accounts, using an account-based approach, with the primary focus to drive highly qualified accounts into the sales pipeline.
They work closely with their assigned Account Executives, Marketing, and many other teams to ensure that they are responding to inquiries and accounts that are engaging with Algolia. They ensure adherence to best prospecting practices, inspire potential customers, and work effectively with partners to develop a robust pipeline for the Sales teams.
This is a high-impact role for people and requires someone with a growth, self-motivated, and willing-to-learn mindset, who is able to work autonomously and continuously strives to improve both personally and professionally. You will be expected to own the development and progression of the pipeline for the accounts allocated to you.

YOUR ROLE WILL CONSIST OF:
- Qualify inbound leads, via meetings, email, phone, or Chat-bots, from their Target Account List, working closely with Account Executives to better understand the prospects' project.
- Build quality, qualified pipeline in your targeted set of accounts.
- Work closely with your allocated Account Executive and/or sales teams to research and strategize on how to approach targeted accounts.
- Use a variety of tools to identify prospect key contacts at target accounts and build a personalized approach, based upon establishing a strong, long-lasting business relationship for Algolia.
- Execute appropriate outbound strategies by building out relevant content (e.g., case studies, emails, screencasts, presentations) to engage the prospect.
- Work with your Manager and Account Executives on prioritizing your time and efforts to maximize pipeline generation and account engagement.
- Be an active part of the team(s), sharing best practices and participating in team meetings.
- Use the Salesforce platform to manage, track, and report sales activities and results.
- Track your allocated accounts' buying journey and respond accordingly based upon the stage in the journey with appropriate outreach and cold calling.
- Work with Sales Ops and Enablement to attend training and provide feedback on processes and courses so that they can be continually refined and updated.
- Have recurring one-to-ones with your Account Executives to check account strategy, refine where appropriate, and update on target account outbounding.
- Work closely with the Marketing teams and other cross-functional teams to ensure accounts and inbound inquiries are followed up appropriately, to agreed SLA’s, and aligned to the company messaging.
- Use tools provided to monitor account journey phases and provide feedback to the Marketing teams to help adapt and optimize our target account lists.
- As required, work with ABM and demand generation teams that target key strategic accounts, working closely on messaging, personalization, themes, and inviting prospects to events/dinners.
- As requested, support the Field Events team by attending events and representing Algolia.
- Where appropriate, work with the Algolia Partner teams on Partner-driven opportunities and liaise with the Partner Account Managers on opportunity progress and management.
- Attend and contribute to meetings as required.
- Use to best effect all the software and tools provided to support the role.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
YOU MIGHT BE A FIT IF YOU HAVE:
- Prior experience in lead generation and sales (SaaS experience preferred, but not required).
- Highly motivated with a competitive edge.

- A track record achieving and exceeding individual quotas (Professional or Personal).
- Excellent communication, written, and presentation skills.
- The ability to think clearly under pressure and manage the demands of Algolia, the company leadership, their AE’s, and the allocated accounts respectively.

OPTIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to Travel - 30%
- Experience using Salesforce, Outreach, and LinkedIn Sales Nav.
- Preference for candidates with experience at our current stage and beyond (over 10,000 customers, $50-300M ARR range, high growth, lots of change, and building internal infrastructure).
- Good understanding of working with the Google Office Suite.
- BS or BA in marketing, communication, business, or related area of study.
