The Opportunity

As a BlinkRx Pharmacist, you will serve as the clinical backbone of their closed-door facility. Your role involves verifying prescriptions with speed and precision, providing proactive patient counseling via phone, and collaborating with prescribers to ensure medications are delivered safely and efficiently. This position is ideal for pharmacists who thrive in a structured, high-throughput environment and are passionate about improving patient outcomes at scale.

Responsibilities

Prescription Verification and Dispensing

Review and clinically verify new and refill prescriptions for:

• Therapeutic appropriateness
• Drug-drug interactions
• Contraindications
• Dosing accuracy

Additional tasks include:

• Validating prescription data entry accuracy
• Performing pharmacist verification of filled prescriptions, ensuring correctness of drug, dose, quantity, NDC, and labeling before shipment
• Conducting daily prospective drug utilization reviews (DUR) to resolve clinical flags before fulfillment
• Managing specialty medication handling requirements, including cold-chain verification

Patient Care

All patient interactions occur via phone or digital platforms. Pharmacists are the primary clinical contact for patients and must deliver high-quality care in every call.

• Provide proactive outbound counseling calls for new prescriptions, covering drug education, side effects, dosing instructions, storage requirements, and adherence strategies
• Handle inbound clinical patient calls, while directing non-clinical inquiries to the patient support team
• Document all patient interactions in the pharmacy management system
• Support Spanish-speaking patients with bilingual counseling

Prescriber Collaboration and Clinical Outreach

• Contact prescriber offices to clarify incomplete, ambiguous, or clinically inappropriate prescriptions
• Partner with prescribers on therapeutic substitutions, DAW overrides, and formulary alternatives to reduce delays

Pharmacy Technician Supervision and Workflow Management

• Supervise pharmacy technicians in data entry, prescription processing, packaging, and fulfillment workflows
• Conduct real-time quality checks on technician work and provide corrective feedback
• Identify and escalate technician performance trends to pharmacy leadership

Compliance, Safety, and Quality

• Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA, state pharmacy practice acts, federal DEA regulations, and BlinkRx corporate policies
• Oversee proper handling, documentation, and destruction of PHI-containing records
• Participate in quality assurance activities, including internal audits, prescription error tracking, and near-miss reporting
• Report adverse drug events and medication errors through pharmacovigilance channels
• Maintain fulfillment area compliance standards, including proper storage of temperature-sensitive medications

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with pharmacy leadership, patient services, clinical, compliance, and technology teams
• Coordinate with shipping and fulfillment teams to resolve packaging errors and delivery failures
• Provide clinical input on technology enhancements and workflow tools
• Participate in team huddles, quality reviews, and department meetings
