Moving completely past basic chance-based platforms, our skill-focused games recognize true talent by rewarding real-time quick thinking and smart competitive strategy for millions of active players globally. Everything we create starts with our uncompromised team philosophy—collaborating, learning, and constantly challenging each other to shatter baseline industry standards. Operating as a fully remote global collective across multiple target regions, Pulse Games unifies technical software craft with game monetization mechanics, providing high-agency backend engineers with an uncompromised virtual canvas to turn shared passion into unforgettable digital gaming experiences safely worldwide.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical, systems-minded Backend Developer to join our core centralized Development division in a full-time remote capacity. Operating at the foundational layer of our gaming infrastructure, you will step up to claim individual strategic operational accountability for designing, developing, and maintaining highly scalable, secure backend services built to route massive runtime traffic streams from international mobile devices. Shifting entirely away from simple website hosting modifications or unoptimized monolithic scripting, you will write clean, concurrent distributed game services using Go, while auditing microservices loops to eliminate execution delays. This position requires a game tech veteran with 3+ years of professional history embedded in mobile gaming teams who structures real-time network states fluidly, models database architectures smoothly natively using SQL, and deploys high-throughput nodes confidently inside cloud ecosystems like AWS or GCP.
Key Responsibilities
- High-Availability Backend Services Governance: Design, code, test, and implement scalable, low-latency backend services and real-time multiplayer routing components natively utilizing Backend multi-threading engineering principles.
- Relational and Distributed Database Architecture: Fully manage, structure, and scale database design models, managing query optimization, indexing paths, and runtime schema maintenance to handle fast-moving player profile and balance data natively using SQL database layers.
- Architecture Monitoring and Triage: Monitor production system performance continuously, debugging complex nested microservices bugs, tracking memory leaks, and engineering persistent updates to reinforce backend resilience.
- Cross-Functional Game Synchronization: Collaborate intimately alongside client-side mobile developers, technical artists, and internal product managers to wire up responsive backend APIs that accurately mirror in-game player achievements.
- Cloud Infrastructure Configuration: Configure, maintain, and allocate high-throughput server pools, load balancers, and distributed data pipelines cleanly inside modern cloud-native platforms (specifically AWS, GCP, or Azure environments).
- Agile Collaboration and Peer Code Auditing: Thriving inside a fast-paced work environment, you will participate in routine sprint planning, asynchronous code reviews, and architectural alignment sessions to build shared engineering standards.
- Technical Documentation Maintenance: Author and document clear system specifications, API structures, data schema dictionaries, and deployment guidelines to facilitate seamless team onboarding.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- At least 3 years of verified professional history running commercial backend software development, distributed systems architecture engineering, game server optimization, or cloud-native infrastructure consulting specifically embedded within mobile game teams.
- Deep, authoritative technical command of network engineering concepts, including RESTful APIs, WebSockets, gRPC, distributed state caching, data serialization, and concurrent computing primitives.
- Expert-tier capability writing production-grade, highly performant server microservices natively utilizing Backend structures (specifically requiring strong, hands-on knowledge of Go).
- Practical operational familiarity designing schema configurations, optimizing execution plans, and structuring stored procedures natively using SQL query layers.
- Demonstrated background deploying and monitoring application code inside automated cloud infrastructures (such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure).
- Possession of a formal university Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical engineering discipline.
- Outstanding interpersonal traits with absolute fluency in business English, enabling uncompromised clarity and confidence when debugging multi-player syncing failures alongside remote international squads.
- Location Context: Position open to qualified backend developers base-stationed permanently and resident anywhere globally to operate under a 100% remote work-from-home layout.
Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)
- Prior commercial backend programming history operating explicitly within high-volume competitive match-making applications, real-time strategy mobile apps, or skill-based gaming marketplaces.
- Hands-on functional familiarity implementing Redis caches, Kafka messaging queues, or managing microservices inside Docker containers and Kubernetes clusters.
- Familiarity with tracking mobile-specific telemetry, analytical clickstreams, or handling secure, fraud-resistant transaction verification nodes.
- An outcome-driven personal philosophy rooted in high accountability, a passion for building software that scales flawlessly under millions of player interactions, and an eager drive to continually challenge your own engineering skills every single day.
What We Offer
- Competitive Global Remuneration Framework: An attractive full-time baseline compensation package, calibrated precisely to evaluate your Go craftsmanship, distributed database authority, and mobile gaming pipeline velocity.
- The exceptional professional canvas to directly direct, shape, and code-engineer the backend architectures and multiplayer microservices power-routing real-time gameplay for millions of international users.
- Profound work-from-home remote parameters offering a 100% virtual framework, complete scheduling trust, and zero physical geographic office commuting friction from any city worldwide.
- Access to elite lifelong learning pathways, collaborating side-by-side with veteran game developers, system architects, and creative designers inside a highly supportive digital culture.
- Strict data handling integrity throughout the recruitment process, guaranteeing that your candidate profiles, personal entries, and test artifacts remain treated with absolute professional confidentiality.
