Real Chemistry is seeking a talented and dynamic Associate Medical Director to join our growing medical communications team. This role is an excellent opportunity to lead the development of cutting-edge, high-impact scientific content that elevates medical education and advances patient outcomes.

As an Associate Medical Director, you’ll leverage your expertise in medical writing and scientific storytelling to drive impactful deliverables across multiple therapeutic areas. You’ll partner with cross-functional teams, and cultivate strong client relationships to ensure excellence in all aspects of our work.

This is a hybrid role, based in any of our US offices—New York City, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, Carmel (IN), or Lambertville (NJ)—or remotely within the US, depending on team and business needs. We are also open to remote applicants in Canada. This role requires working eastern US hours.

What you’ll do:

  • Oversee a team of medical writers within assigned therapeutic areas and client accounts; provide leadership and mentorship, fostering a culture of excellence and supporting professional growth within the team
  • Review and revise medical content to ensure scientific accuracy and alignment with client strategies
  • Counsel and serve as integral partner to clients in the development of various medical strategies and in the design and analysis of related medical communication tactics and deliverables
  • Serve as the primary medical point of contact for clients on projects and deliverables, building trust and maintaining open communication while providing strategic and tactical guidance
  • Ensure all deliverables meet the highest standards of scientific accuracy, consistency, and compliance with client guidelines and industry regulations
  • Understand project scopes and statuses and partner with account/project leads to ensure accurate budgeting, timely resourcing, and effective communication within cross-functional teams
  • Contribute to business growth by supporting the development of new business proposals and participating in client pitches
  • Perform any other duties as reasonably assigned—duties and responsibilities may relate to business development, departmental or agency-wide initiatives, and more

This position is a perfect fit for you if:

  • Our company values—Best Together, Impact-Obsessed, Excellence Expected, Evolve Always, and Accountability with an “I”—really speak to you
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and can adapt to shifting priorities with resilience and resourcefulness
  • You are a strategic thinker with a passion for diving deep into scientific data and distilling actionable insights in a compelling and compliant manner
  • You are a natural leader and team player, with a positive, solutions-oriented, and client-focused approach to challenges

What you should have:

  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare communications within an agency, with a demonstrated track record of developing high-quality deliverables
  • Advanced degree in life sciences, medicine, pharmacy, or a related discipline (PhD, MD, or PharmD preferred)
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and persuasive scientific narratives tailored to diverse audiences, including primary care physicians and specialists
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines across diverse accounts, maintaining high-quality standards under pressure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat as well as familiarity with online proofing platforms (e.g., Workfront Proof, Ziflow) and Veeva Vault
  • Proficiency with AI tools and resources to facilitate research and develop content in an efficient and responsible manner

View Company Profile

Real Chemistry is a premier, enterprise-grade global health innovation and communications network engineered to orchestrate massive-scale healthcare commercialization ecosystems and intelligent, frictionless patient-engagement workflows. Operating as an AI-native healthcare-intelligence hub (formerly W2O Group), the company eliminates the operational friction of traditional, legacy medical-marketing models—which frequently suffer from siloed expertise, fragmented data-attribution, and slow cross-channel execution—by seamlessly deploying advanced AI-driven audience-analytics telemetry, rigorous multi-channel omnichannel architectures, and cohesive scientific-communications frameworks. Moving beyond rigid legacy agency paradigms, Real Chemistry empowers global biopharma leaders and life sciences enterprises to dynamically synchronize their clinical-trial engagement, commercial-launch, and corporate-reputation pipelines with elite, scalable, and audit-ready execution. Under the hood, their sophisticated proprietary operational infrastructure—bolstered by a deep bench of data scientists and tech-enabled platforms like Swoop, IPM.ai, and the Symplur Suite—natively manages complex global multi-language data ingestion, instantaneous AI-driven risk-scoring, and automated narrative-threat routing, providing the necessary operational foundation for organizations to proactively navigate a rapidly modernizing healthcare landscape. What sets Real Chemistry apart is its uncompromising dedication to frictionless scientific-orchestration; by bridging the gap between highly technical, performance-intensive medical demands and accessible, high-velocity digital-transformation experiences, the firm empowers modern organizations to radically accelerate their scientific-innovation velocity, eliminate systemic commercialization-bottlenecks, and build an unassailable foundation for continuous commercial and institutional dominance in the modern, AI-transformed global-health landscape.
