ANZ General Manager Operations & Strategy Lead

Intellect is a workplace mental health and EAP provider rapidly expanding across Australia and New Zealand. The company is competing for larger enterprise and government contracts, creating a significant operational and strategic workload that exceeds the commercial team's capacity.

The role of the ANZ General Manager's right-hand involves taking ANZ market priorities—such as addressing product gaps, compliance requirements, go-live risks, or new market opportunities—and driving them to completion across Intellect's regional functions: Product, Operations, Clinical, Legal, and Revenue. This position ensures the GM is not micromanaging each step.

This is not a sales or tender-writing role. Instead, it acts as the operational and strategic engine, allowing the ANZ commercial team to focus on winning and retaining clients. The target is to unlock AUD 1.5M in additional new business for ANZ within 12 months.

What You'll Do

Drive ANZ priorities through regional HQ (core of the role)

• Convert the GM's priorities into structured requests for Product, Operations, Clinical, Legal, and Revenue, and track each request to completion.
• Manage the weekly ANZ-to-HQ rhythm, providing a status update on open items, escalating to the GM only when a decision is required.
• Maintain a live register of ANZ strategic initiatives, including owner, status, dependencies, and next actions.
• Project-manage the HQ side of new client go-lives, covering product configuration, clinical resourcing, and operational setup.

Execute strategic initiatives from idea to outcome

• Lead 3–5 ANZ initiatives simultaneously, such as new service lines, critical incident service improvements, and psychosocial risk products. Define scope, timeline, dependencies, and success criteria for each.
• Write structured requirements for Product instead of making verbal requests, and flag potential slippage before it impacts clients.
• Conduct market research, including competitor proposals and pricing, value proposition and pricing strategy for 2027, and identify gaps in service-level agreements (SLAs) against market expectations.
• Develop business cases and briefing packs for leadership forums.

Run pipeline and reporting operations

• Ensure the ANZ HubSpot pipeline is accurate weekly, tracking stage, close date, annual contract value (ACV), and last activity.
• Own the data for the ANZ section of the monthly business review (MBR), adhering to regional standards.
• Identify pipeline coverage gaps three months before the quarter end.

Coordinate tender compliance and capacity

• Chair Go/No-Go decisions on new tenders and maintain the criteria.
• Oversee compliance pre-checks before any submission, including insurance, the Fair Jobs Code, data sovereignty, and accreditation.
• Support the dedicated RFP specialist on priority bids and manage the scope and cost of external bid consultants.

Handle people and business administration

• Coordinate ANZ people processes with the People team, scope office and operational requirements, and keep the GM's calendar free of non-commercial administrative tasks.
