We are looking for an Accounting and Tax Advisor to join the team of bright and dedicated individuals taking care of the accounting and compliance needs of Xolo clients based in Spain. In this role, you will be in charge of registering our freelancer clients with the tax and social security authorities, complying with all their tax and accounting obligations, as well as advising our clients on their taxation and accounting-related questions.

You will get to collaborate with colleagues from customer success and product teams who will support you along the way, in addition to your own team members. To streamline your everyday work, you have Xolo’s software, which has automated many of the routine accounting processes to save your time and brainpower for more meaningful, value-adding tasks. Working as an Accounting and Tax Advisor at Xolo will bring you the opportunity to learn about different customers’ business models, ensuring that each day will bring you new opportunities to expand your professional expertise.

āœļø As an Accounting and Tax Advisor at Xolo, you will:

  • Register our freelancer clients as self-employed before the Tax Authorities and Social Security.
  • Manage the tax returns (quarterly, annual, etc.), as well as any other tax or accounting obligations on behalf of our clients.
  • Support the Customer Success team and other teams in accounting and tax matters.
  • Advise our clients to solve any queries that require your specialized knowledge in accounting and taxation.
  • Collaborate with the Spain team and the product team to define the internal processes that allow us to provide the best service to our clients.

🧩 What makes you a great fit?

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience working with self-employed clients (Autónomos) in Spain.
  • Proven track record managing a portfolio of Autónomo clients, including those with employees.
  • Experience registering clients with the Spanish Tax Authorities (Agencia Tributaria) and Social Security (Seguridad Social).
  • Experience in handling notifications and communications with AEAT (Spanish Tax Agency) and Social Security.
  • Strong background in filing quarterly and annual tax returns (e.g., VAT, IRPF, corporate obligations).
  • Experience advising clients directly on accounting and taxation matters, not just processing filings.
  • Basic understanding of e-invoicing rules (Verifactu).
  • Fluency in Spanish and English, with excellent communication skills to explain complex matters simply.
  • Comfortable working remotely and collaborating across teams in software-driven environments.
  • Customer-focused, approachable, and able to build trust with clients.
  • Experience supporting international/foreign Autónomo clients is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Canary Islands taxation regulations is a big plus.
