FreeWill, an award-winning social-good startup, is seeking an Account Manager to join the Partner Success team. This is a full-time remote position with a compensation range of $115,000–$128,000 OTE, inclusive of a base salary of $86,000–$96,000 and equity.
FreeWill partners with 2,400+ nonprofits and has generated $14 billion in gift commitments since its founding in 2017. The company aims to make complex donation processes easier and more accessible for donors and nonprofits alike.
The Goals
- Ensure nonprofit organizations continue working with FreeWill on an annual subscription basis.
- Identify opportunities to expand partnerships to include other FreeWill fundraising tools and add value.
- Create warm, dynamic relationships with partners and ensure they feel cared for.
- Proactively address challenges internally and externally.
- Ensure tactics and processes are scalable as the team and partnerships grow.
- Understand and communicate partner needs to the internal team.
The Tactics
- Lead renewal and upsell meetings while prioritizing partner goals.
- Build strong relationships with Partner Success Strategists to understand the partner journey up to renewal.
- Creatively develop and pitch renewal and expansion plans based on individual partner needs, ensuring deals are handled well ahead of deadlines.
- Represent nonprofit partner needs across the company and help shape how FreeWill builds and delivers value.
- Communicate new FreeWill developments to partners and proactively offer value.
- Improve and maintain renewals and upsells project management systems, keeping CRM records accurate for reliable scheduling and forecasting.
- Surface feedback, latest customer success techniques, and trends to the broader team.
Requirements
FreeWill is a fast-paced, venture-backed startup, so the role requires adaptability and comfort with shifting responsibilities. Key requirements include:
- 2+ years of experience working on a SaaS customer success team, managing clients, handling negotiations, or in the nonprofit fundraising space (strongly preferred).
- Superior written and verbal communication skills and a fine-tuned attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills and comfort working within CRM and sales tools.
- Intellectual curiosity, a willingness to learn, and a strong bias toward follow-through.
- Strong decision-making skills paired with a collaborative mindset.
- Comfort operating with ambiguity and navigating nuances to make sound decisions.
