The Water/Wastewater (W/WW) Engineer plans and designs water treatment plants, wastewater facilities, lift stations, and related infrastructure. This role performs hydraulic simulations and process calculations, prepares engineering reports and permit applications, and supports permitting and regulatory compliance efforts across state and federal agencies.
The W/WW Engineer represents Atwell in client and regulatory meetings, conducts site assessments of existing facilities, and develops design solutions for new and upgraded treatment infrastructure, working independently in a remote environment while managing multiple project deadlines. This is a remote-friendly role with occasional site travel.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent related field from an EAC/ABET Accredited University
- PE Licensure Required
- 5+ years of relevant work experience
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil3D, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, StormCAD, or similar software required.
Travel Requirement:
- Travel is typically required on a quarterly basis, as project needs arise, with most trips lasting 1–3 days. Candidates should be comfortable working onsite and engaging directly with operators, contractors, and clients.
