The Vice President, Corporate Communications is a senior leadership role at Mineralys Therapeutics, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company transitioning to commercial-stage, focused on developing medicines for hypertension, chronic kidney disease (CKD), obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), and other aldosterone-driven diseases.

The role is responsible for developing and executing Mineralys’ comprehensive corporate communications strategy, establishing a durable corporate narrative, building internal communications infrastructure, and positioning the company with media, healthcare stakeholders, employees, and the financial community over the long term.

The position partners closely with the Executive Team, functional leaders, and Investor Relations to align communication strategy with corporate objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Communications Strategy

  • Own the enterprise communications strategy, spanning external and internal audiences, aligning it with corporate objectives and launch readiness milestones.
  • Define the Mineralys corporate narrative and core messaging platform, ensuring consistent application across all audiences and channels.
  • Establish the communications operating model, including planning calendars, message review and approval pathways, spokesperson protocols, and escalation/crisis procedures.
  • Set measures of effectiveness for communications and report outcomes to the Executive Team.

Corporate Communications and Public Relations

  • Oversee creation of all external communications, including press releases, media statements, and corporate messaging campaigns.
  • Build and manage relationships with key healthcare, trade, and financial media; serve as a company spokesperson and coach executives for media interactions.
  • Lead communications for significant corporate milestones, including clinical data readouts, regulatory submissions, launch announcements, business development, and commercial progress.
  • Lead issues management and crisis communications, including preparedness planning, rapid response, and executive counsel under pressure.

Brand, Digital, and Corporate Identity

  • Own the corporate brand: identity, visual standards, voice, and tone, ensuring disciplined application across all internal and external materials.
  • Partner with the Commercial team to ensure alignment between corporate and product branding while maintaining distinctiveness.
  • Own the company’s digital presence, including the corporate website, social media channels, and governance for these platforms.

Internal Communications and Employee Engagement

  • Build the internal communications function, including channels, cadence, and standards, for a growing organization operating across headquarters, field, and remote employees.
  • Partner with the Executive Team on leadership communications, all-hands meetings, organizational announcements, and change communications.
  • Partner with HR on culture, employee engagement, onboarding, and manager communications capability.
  • Ensure employees understand company strategy, priorities, and progress, and that internal and external messaging are consistent.

Commercial Launch and Beyond

  • Partner with Commercial, Medical Affairs, and Market Access to develop and execute communications supporting product launch, including healthcare professional outreach, disease education, patient communications, and advocacy engagement.
  • Build the post-launch communications plan to sustain awareness, reputation, and stakeholder engagement as the company moves into ongoing commercial operations.

Investor Relations Support

  • Partner with Investor Relations and Finance to ensure consistency between corporate messaging and financial communications, including earnings materials, investor presentations, and conference participation.
  • Contribute to investor relations activities as needed.

Building and Leading the Function

  • Operate as a hands-on leader initially, personally producing high-quality work while establishing the function.
  • Define the structure, roles, sequencing, and budget for the communications team, and hire/develop the team as the company scales.
  • Select and manage external agencies and vendors, holding them accountable to clear scope, quality, and cost expectations.
  • Serve as a senior advisor to the Executive Team and participate in key organizational decision-making.
  • Ensure all communications activities comply with SEC regulations, FDA guidelines, and other applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Required

  • Experience across the full product lifecycle, including clinical data disclosure, regulatory milestones, and product launch.
  • Familiarity with the biotech investor and healthcare media landscape.
  • Demonstrated internal communications and change communications capability in a fast-growing organization.
  • Proven issues and crisis management experience, including advising executives in high-stakes situations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; a strategic storyteller who can translate complex scientific and financial information into clear, compelling narratives.
  • A player-coach who is comfortable operating without infrastructure and building it while delivering.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills; track record of working closely with Finance, Legal, Clinical, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, and Commercial teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting a first commercial launch.

Mineralys Therapeutics

View Company Profile

Mineralys Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company engineered to pioneer targeted therapies for cardiorenal metabolic diseases driven by abnormally elevated or dysregulated aldosterone levels. Operating at the frontier of precision pharmacology, the company eliminates the therapeutic ceiling of legacy antihypertensive treatments—which routinely fail over 30 million U.S. patients suffering from uncontrolled or resistant hypertension—by developing lorundrostat, a novel, orally administered, highly selective aldosterone synthase inhibitor (ASI). Moving beyond broad-spectrum blood pressure medications and non-selective mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists, Mineralys Therapeutics equips healthcare systems with clinical-stage small molecules designed to stop aldosterone hyper-production directly at its enzymatic source, significantly reducing systemic vascular strain and organ damage with targeted, once-daily precision. Under the hood, its clinical development engine—bolstered by Phase 2/3 trial data (Target-HTN), biomarker-driven patient selection, and robust cardiorenal clinical protocols—natively targets resistant hypertension, chronic kidney disease (CKD), and obstructive sleep apnea. What sets Mineralys Therapeutics apart is its laser focus on the root metabolic drivers of cardiovascular disease; by selectively inhibiting aldosterone synthesis while preserving systemic hormone balance, the firm enables clinicians to break treatment resistance, protect vital organ architecture, and set a new therapeutic standard in cardiovascular and renal health.
