Position Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical, connection-obsessed, and systems-minded Technical Advisor to join our core centralized Engineering leadership collective in a part-time fractional remote capacity open exclusively to qualified technical executives resident anywhere across the United States. Operating as a critical strategic growth partner and fractional organizational architect for approximately 10–15 hours a week, you will step up to claim true individual operational and strategic accountability over technical team scaling, org design validation, and key screening processes. Shifting completely away from routine terminal line debugging, basic administrative form logging, manual code writing, or minor disconnected text review loops, you will run an active technical vetting, interview design, and leadership advisory laboratory—partnering face-to-face as a primary sounding board for our internal Head of Engineering. This position requires an enterprise startup veteran and veteran Chief Technology Officer (CTO) who maps out comprehensive technical interview tracks fluidly natively using Recruiter architectures, diagnoses engineering capability depths cleanly natively leveraging Talent Acquisition methodologies across distributed teams, and commands multi-tier technical alignments confidently under agile venture-backed startup parameters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fractional Engineering Org Architecture: Partner directly in lockstep with the Head of Engineering to advise on technical organization design, team scaling tracks, and resource mitigation strategies as Reflow expands.
  • Elite Technical Vetting Blueprint Design: Personally formulate, implement, and maintain the custom, rigorous technical portion of the interview lifecycle to evaluate advanced engineering candidates cleanly natively utilizing Recruiter frameworks.
  • Co-Ownership of Priority Recruiting Tracks: Directly oversee and drive the end-to-end interview pipeline for critical infrastructure hires, managing technical assessments for DevOps Engineers, Data Scientists, OS-level (Windows & Mac) systems engineers, and Full-Stack web developers natively leveraging Talent Acquisition best practices.
  • Technical Leadership Sounding Board: Serve as the principal technical advisory node and system sounding board for the Head of Engineering, reviewing architectural roadmaps, scaling tradeoffs, and code culture standards.
  • Specialist Network Interlock: Run complex candidate evaluations personally or coordinate closely with external trusted technology specialists to audit niche engineering depth where required.
  • Decomposing Ambiguous Technical Profiles: Translate ambiguous engineering pipeline constraints into structured candidate profiles, skill evaluation matrices, and automated vetting rubrics.
  • Verification-Disciplined Reporting: Build and catalog clear candidate documentation reviews, summary scorecards, and evidentiary hiring traces to ensure absolute transparency across all hiring loops.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Past Venture-Backed CTO Status Requirement: Verifiable career history explicitly serving as the corporate Chief Technology Officer (CTO) or identical senior engineering founder for early and growth-stage Venture Capital (VC)-backed technology startups.
  • Rapid Scale Sourcing Prerequisite: Documented career history successfully scaling complex engineering teams from roughly zero to 50+ active engineers within the last few calendar years.
  • Expert-tier capability modeling technical interview rubrics, analyzing structural resource gaps, and auditing candidate competency pipelines natively utilizing Recruiter software frameworks.
  • Practical operational familiarity organizing cross-functional technical tracks, evaluating developer skillsets, and managing pipeline metrics natively using Talent Acquisition principles across AI, DevOps, Data Science, and Full-Stack tiers.
  • Exhaustive Tech Stack Command: A profoundly broad technical skillset enabling confident, deep technical evaluation of candidates operating across complex products, advanced backend databases, and modern data structures.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and scannable technical-documentation communication attributes in business-fluent English to deliver direct, uncompromised feedback to internal technology founders.
  • Location Context: Position open exclusively to qualified engineering leaders based permanently and resident within the borders of the United States to operate under a fractional 10–15 hour per week remote work-from-home layout.
