What you'll do
As a Surveyor at Octopus Energy Services, you will:
- Visit customers in their homes to conduct surveys assessing suitability for Solar PV, heat pumps, loft and cavity wall insulation, or complete an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).
- Capture multiple data points, including measurements, to complete a heat loss calculation and produce a quote.
- Ensure accurate data collection to inform the design and installation of low-carbon heating systems.
- Expertly explain the survey process to customers and advocate for sustainable, smart technologies.
- Communicate effectively to ensure customers feel positive about the visit and are motivated to upgrade their homes.
- Adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment and maintain resilience.
What you'll have
We’re looking for candidates with:
- Experience communicating with customers, ideally in a face-to-face domestic environment.
- Previous experience in a MCS-accredited organization or assessing properties for energy efficiency/insulation measures (Domestic Energy Assessor/Retrofit Assessor qualification is highly desirable but not essential).
- Experience discussing home-related work with customers, preferably with a background in measuring and sizing equipment.
- Desirable: Knowledge of technologies like heat pumps, solar PV, battery storage, and electrical equipment.
- Preferred but not essential: Some mechanical or electrical experience (quick learner required).
- Tech-forward company: Strong IT and tech skills required.
- Full clean driving license (no more than 6 points).
