Position Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical, deeply curious, and culture-obsessed Strategy Director to lead multiple high-profile accounts under a permanent, full-time fully remote engagement framework based anywhere in Malaysia. Operating as the premier “strategic brain” within our high-growth marketing division, you will step up to claim direct narrative, consumer insights, and cross-functional team leadership accountability over our expanding regional digital strategies. Shifting completely away from routine landing page maintenance, database text sorting, or static script documentation, you will run an active digital behavior, consumer ethnography, and high-stakes client pitching laboratory—partnering face-to-face with creative directors, social listening analysts, community experts, and senior client stakeholders. This position requires an experienced agency leader with 7+ years of integrated strategy experience who evaluates business goals fluidly natively using SEO frameworks, decodes complicated digital behavior trends cleanly to author flawless creative briefs, and directs cross-department collaboration sessions confidently to ensure beautiful, big, and bold marketing delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Team Leadership: Direct and mentor a cross-functional squad of talented brand strategists, social insight analysts, and community management specialists, setting clear priorities and quality control bars.
- Creative Brief Architecture: Translate obscure consumer observations and data findings into highly compelling, actionable creative briefs that inspire world-class visual and contextual content.
- Multi-Platform Consumer Research: Conduct traditional, web, social, and syndicated research loops natively utilizing SEO optimization engines and specialized analytics platforms to understand human behaviors in context.
- Client-Facing Pitch Delivery: Command commercial boardrooms with dazzling presentation presence, simplifying complex digital landscapes into clear, highly digestible business strategies.
- Integrated Program Management: Oversee the complete lifecycle of integrated marketing programs from foundational data gathering through to end-to-end creative execution under tight timelines.
- Process Quality Assurance: Enforce a high sense of priority and zero-error tolerances on ongoing strategic tasks, remediating internal production bottlenecks constructively.
- New Idea Cultivation: Highlight emerging social trends, influencer dynamics, and cultural markers (TikTok shifts, viral memes) to internal teams and external stakeholders proactively.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- A minimum of 7 years of verified professional history building integrated marketing and digital programs at a top-tier creative or media agency framework.
- Demonstrated history working extensively with Fortune 500 corporate clients, showcasing deep knowledge of the intersection between business strategy, consumer insights, and digital media behavior.
- Proven expertise navigating complex data tracking and syndicated research environments, specifically leveraging software solutions such as Brandwatch, NetBase, Sysomos, eMarketer, Mintel, or Google Analytics.
- Outstanding written and verbal presentation strengths, displaying an intuitive capacity to express complicated strategic concepts in simple, accessible, and fifth-grade-level prose.
- Highly collaborative, people-first professional mindset with the emotional agility to think logically and engineer creative solutions under fast-paced startup pressure.
- Location Context: Position features 100% remote parameters open exclusively to qualified strategy leaders residing permanently within Malaysia.

- Applied background conducting qualitative research, such as In-Depth Interviews (IDIs) or specialized digital ethnographies across diverse Asian market bases.
