Staff Product Designer

We're seeking a Staff Product Designer to tackle Koru’s most ambiguous, high-leverage design challenges—spanning multiple client accounts, cross-functional teams, or undefined briefs. You’ll establish design quality and AI-informed practices, while thriving in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where creating structure is part of the job.

This role demands genuine AI fluency in product design—not just tool familiarity, but critical judgment on when AI enhances user experience and when it doesn’t. You’ll ship AI-powered features responsibly and integrate AI tools into your workflow, not just design AI for others.

Key Responsibilities

Owning Ambiguous, High-Leverage Work

• Lead and deliver large, cross-team or cross-account projects independently, adjusting scope dynamically rather than waiting for clarity.
• Diagnose unframed problems, identifying opportunities before they’re assigned, not just executing roadmap items.
• Set design quality and visual direction for accounts or product lines without executing every detail.
• Apply deliberate leverage: determine when to execute tasks yourself versus building scalable solutions (patterns, templates, documentation).
• Own cross-surface-area design decisions across multiple product lines when needed.

Shaping AI in Design

• Establish AI UX standards for clients or product lines, maintaining pattern libraries and evaluation checklists for other designers.
• Use AI as a multiplier for design, accelerating exploration and prototyping without replacing your judgment.
• Actively evolve Koru’s AI design practices as the field progresses.

Influence Without Authority

• Build followership across teams through clear thinking, not seniority or volume.
• Mentor designers across projects, acting as both sponsor and mentor, advocating for others in strategic spaces.
• Position Koru as a strategic partner through the caliber of your thinking and output.

Contributing Beyond Projects

• Lead initiatives that expand Koru’s visibility or offerings.
• Improve internal design frameworks and processes, not just follow them.

Requirements

Experience

• 8+ years in product or UX design, primarily at a senior level or above.
• A portfolio demonstrating measurable business outcomes and leading ambiguous, cross-functional work—standalone without verbal explanation.
• B2B and enterprise application experience; HealthTech is a plus.
• Hands-on experience designing AI-powered features or AI-native products—not just daily AI tool use. Portfolio evidence required.
• Comfortable prototyping in code or collaborating closely with front-end teams.
