About the Role

We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer - Contract to support critical product validation initiatives with a strong focus on API and end-to-end workflow testing. This role emphasizes manual testing, exploratory validation, and ensuring high-quality releases across complex system interactions. You will collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to ensure reliability, accuracy, and seamless user experiences across the application lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• API & Workflow Testing
  • Validate end-to-end workflows across system components and services.
  • Perform API testing using tools like Postman or similar REST clients.
  • Verify request/response structures, data integrity, and service behavior.
  • Test different functional scenarios across APIs, including positive and negative cases.
• Functional & Edge Case Validation
  • Execute detailed functional, regression, and exploratory testing.
  • Identify edge cases, failure scenarios, and unexpected system behaviors.
  • Validate error handling, fallback mechanisms, and system resilience.
  • Ensure consistency across different environments and configurations.
• Data Validation & Backend Testing
  • Validate data consistency across APIs and databases.
  • Perform backend validation using SQL queries.
  • Verify logs, records, and system outputs for correctness.
• System Reliability & Scenario Testing
  • Test system behavior under different conditions (e.g., retries, timeouts, partial failures).
  • Validate data flow across multiple services and components.
  • Ensure system stability during complex workflows.
• Release Validation & Production Support
  • Support pre-release validation and smoke testing.
  • Participate in production verification and post-release checks.
  • Collaborate with teams for defect triaging and resolution.

Requirements

• 5+ years of QA experience with strong focus on manual and API testing.
• Hands-on experience with API testing tools (Postman or similar).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP protocols, and JSON.
• Experience with SQL and backend data validation.
• Strong expertise in functional, regression, and exploratory testing.
• Familiarity with distributed systems behavior (timeouts, retries, failures).
• Strong analytical thinking and debugging skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment.

Good to Have

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Basic understanding of system integrations and service-based architecture.
• Exposure to log analysis and monitoring tools.
