The role drives integrated planning, stakeholder alignment, and campaign execution to increase patient engagement and recruitment.

This candidate is a data-driven leader who creates insight-led strategies, identifies growth opportunities, and optimizes cross-channel plans for maximum impact. Media plans will be aligned to business priorities, study recruitment needs, geographic opportunity, and operational capacity.

How You'll Make An Impact

  • Audience Strategy, Segmentation & Market Intelligence
    • Lead development and ongoing refinement of actionable audience segments using first-party, platform, behavioral, geographic, and market data.
    • Translate patient and market insights into targeting, messaging, channel, and investment recommendations.
    • Partner with Analytics, CRM/Marketing Automation, Clinical Operations, Recruitment Operations to establish audience definitions, data requirements, and activation-ready segment strategies.
  • Integrated Campaign Strategy
    • Develop and implement full-funnel media strategies designed to drive patient recruitment, defining channel roles, audience sequencing, investment mix, flighting, KPIs, and optimization triggers.
    • Balance national and local-market investment based on recruitment priorities, projected yield, market opportunity, site capacity, and business needs.
    • Analyze audience and campaign data to inform strategy and optimization.
    • Create standardized strategic-planning templates and briefing processes that improve consistency from campaign brief through activation.
  • Channel Activation & Expansion
    • Set the strategy for existing and emerging paid media channels, including paid social, programmatic, video, OOH, paid search, and other relevant patient recruitment tactics.
    • Own the channel roadmap, identifying when to scale established channels, introduce emerging channels, or retire lower-value tactics.
    • Maintain hands-on platform fluency while setting strategic direction, quality standards, and operating rhythms for internal specialists and external partners.
  • Campaign Stewardship
    • Conduct performance deep dives to identify what worked, what did not, growth opportunities, and refinements to targeting and execution.
    • Identify gaps in how campaigns translate from brief to market and recommend practical solutions.
    • Manage and allocate a multi-million dollar digital media budget, including forecasting, pacing, scenario planning, and reallocation recommendations.
    • Establish campaign tracking, governance, and version control systems that support reliable oversight and execution.
    • Lead agency and vendor strategy, including scope definition, performance expectations, evaluation, and accountability.
  • Measurement, Performance & Test-and-Learn
    • Define measurement plans that connect media KPIs to recruitment outcomes and business impact, not only platform-level efficiency.
    • Establish performance management cadences, including in-flight optimization, weekly reporting, monthly business reviews, and campaign learning agendas.
    • Create a prioritized test-and-learn roadmap covering creative, audience, channel, bidding, landing page, market, and investment hypotheses.
    • Architect testing structures - including A/B testing, geo-holdouts, lift studies, and incrementality experiments - to inform investment and optimization decisions.
    • Partner with Analytics to advance attribution and incrementality capabilities, including appropriate use of multi-touch attribution, marketing mix modeling, and other measurement methods as data maturity allows.
    • Partner with Development and Analytics to further build marketing automation capabilities.
