Sr. Image Quality Tuning Engineer

About the Role: We're looking for a Senior Image Quality Tuning engineer to optimize the ISP pipeline for both road and cabin views through a data-driven approach, ensuring image stability and clarity in high-motion and high-vibration environments. You will write scripts to identify bugs, modify ISP parameters, and work closely with Product Management, EE, PD, FW, EPM, NPI, and Hardware leadership to make excellent tradeoffs and choices. Note: This role is based in our Taipei office, operating in a hybrid capacity requiring office presence as needed and travel up to 25% of the time.

What You'll Do

• Assist the Lead Architect in tuning key ISP blocks (Auto Exposure, Noise Reduction, Sharpening, and Color Mapping) for both RGB and RGBIR sensors.
• Optimize Auto-Exposure (AE) weighting and shutter-speed priorities to minimize motion blur and "jello effect" during vehicle vibration.
• Actively tune Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) and gyro-sensor integration to maintain video fluidity.
• Develop Python/MATLAB scripts to extract objective metrics (MTF, SNR, Dynamic Range) from massive field-drive datasets.
• Build and maintain internal tools to visualize ISP parameter changes and ensure tuning drops are documented and version-controlled.
• Own the "Version-to-Version" IQ database to ensure dynamic and static regression analysis.
• Automate IQ report generation, including "Vibration Robustness" scores, to provide a complete picture of performance in real-world driving.
• Collaborate with top JDM companies, certification labs, and other external consultants to design and validate quality products.

What You Bring

• 6+ years in Image Quality or ISP Tuning; comfortable with at least one major SoC tuning tool (e.g., Ambarella, Novatek, Sony, or Qualcomm).
• Hands-on experience tuning AE for motion-blur mitigation or EIS for video stabilization.
• Proficiency in Python (OpenCV, NumPy) for image processing, temporal analysis, and frame-to-frame metric extraction.
• Understanding of how lens/sensor interactions and mechanical tolerances (lens-tilt/vibration) affect tuning limits (CRA & Hardware Awareness).
• Experience shipping automotive or high-end imaging products from "bring-up" to mass production.
• Proven record navigating tradeoffs between design, manufacturability, schedule, and cost.
• BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
