About SentinelOne: SentinelOne is an elite pioneer at the direct intersection of autonomous machine learning and global infrastructure security, pioneering an entirely new operating model for corporate cybersecurity. Our AI-native singularity platform unifies protection vectors across endpoint configurations, hybrid cloud deployments, identity ledgers, central data architectures, and distributed AI systems to deliver zero-noise autonomous threat detection and response with uncompromised speed. Architected from day one to operate at machine scale, SentinelOne secures the infrastructure of the global economy, providing cybersecurity teams with the absolute clarity required to protect global enterprises, foundations, and tomorrow’s computing networks.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly autonomous, systems-fluent, and machine learning proficient Sr. Director, Enterprise AI Platform Engineering to spearhead the formulation, architectural scaling, and operational governance of SentinelOne’s internal core AI platform under a permanent, full-time remote configuration open across the United States. In this high-leverage executive technical leadership seat, you will act as the principal architect building the unified enterprise AI control plane through which all artificial intelligence workflows at SentinelOne are governed, monitored, secured, and scaled. Shifting completely away from direct-to-LLM wrappers, routine administrative task logging, or basic front-end web modifications, you will direct an active multi-model AI Gateway routing, multi-turn agent orchestration framework, Model Context Protocol (MCP) tool-compliance, and programmatic model evaluation laboratory. Partnering directly beside core Enterprise Data, Enterprise Apps, Product Development, and InfoSec cells, you will manage shared architectural contracts that service both custom engineering components and global deployments like Claude Enterprise and Gemini Enterprise. This position requires a software engineering authority with 7+ years of track record (including at least 3 years in an engineering leadership capacity and 1+ year leading AI/ML infrastructure) who deploys enterprise systems fluidly natively using AI Engineer, Machine Learning, and Python Scripting primitives, anchors high technical excellence standards, and handles build-vs-buy frameworks with deep economic discipline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Core AI Platform Governance: Architect, lead, and optimize the technical roadmap for SentinelOne’s internal enterprise AI platform control layers—encompassing the Gateway, Harness, and Semantic Layers—natively utilizing AI Engineer best practices.
  • AI Gateway Instrumentation & Security: Design and scale a governed, secure AI Gateway layer featuring centralized identity authentication (AuthN/Z), automated token budgeting, continuous Data Loss Prevention (DLP), content guardrails, and full audit trailing.
  • Agent Orchestration Control: Build and manage the multi-turn Harness layer—leveraging Machine Learning primitives and orchestration toolchains (such as LangGraph) to govern context window state, tool calling, and cross-model routing across AWS Bedrock and Google Vertex AI.
  • Plugin Framework Engineering: Direct the development of role-based enterprise skills and automated plugins for Claude Enterprise and Gemini Enterprise systems, maturing secure authoring, regression evaluation, and output reliability parameters.
  • Multi-Origin Policy Enforcement: Ensure that all user-instantiated, SaaS-embedded, or third-party partner agents pass systematically through identical, centralized operational security controls regardless of call origin.
  • Model Evaluation Architecture Triage: Establish and own a programmatic model evaluation framework, translating testing results into analytical data loops to steer active model selection, prompt tuning, and load failover decisions.
  • Production-Grade Code Stewardship: Maintain an exceptionally high technical bar by writing and reviewing modular production code natively leveraging the Python Scripting ecosystem (Python 3.11+, FastAPI, React 18+, TypeScript, and pydantic.ai).
  • Engineering Talent Cultivation: Recruit, mentor, and technically lead an elite squad of platform engineers, establishing pristine code review patterns and high-trust development structures.
  • Cross-Functional Contracting & Alignment: Act as a highly technical liaison across Enterprise Data, Product, and InfoSec groups to connect the platform safely to governed corporate data warehouses.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Possess a formal Bachelor’s or higher degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a matching highly technical discipline.
  • A minimum of 7+ years of proven, successful professional software engineering history, with at least 3+ years spent operating in a formal engineering leadership or technical architectural capacity, and 1+ year leading production-grade AI/ML infrastructure deployments.
  • Expert Platform Engineering Command: Documented history of architecting at least one high-availability production platform (API Gateway, data platform, or developer utility) that successfully enforced centralized policy controls across multiple enterprise consumers.
  • Deep hands-on technical literacy managing agent orchestration structures (LangGraph or equivalent frameworks), enterprise AI gateway software (such as Kong AI Gateway), and Model Context Protocol (MCP) tool definitions.
  • Complete production-grade mastery writing and reviewing structured code blocks natively leveraging Python, React, and TypeScript.
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and cross-team communication strengths in English, with an established background delivering scannable infrastructure risk postures clearly to C-suite corporate executives.
  • Location Context: Position operates under remote guidelines open exclusively to qualified AI infrastructure and software engineering leaders residing permanently within the United States.

Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)

  • Prior platform or research background managing infrastructure security explicitly for publicly listed cybersecurity enterprises, high-concurrency SaaS ecosystems, or high-compliance cloud systems.
  • Direct operational alignment administering or configuring security policies natively within Claude Enterprise or Gemini Enterprise platform layouts.
  • Experience evaluating layer tradeoffs via total cost of ownership (TCO) modeling, choosing appropriately between custom assemblies and existing open-source components.

What We Offer

  • Top-Tier US AI Infrastructure Engineering Remuneration: A premium annual base salary scale of $198,750 - $298,000 USD calibrated precisely to your platform pedigree, augmented by lucrative Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) and Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) setups.
  • 100% remote workspace infrastructure autonomy anywhere within the United States, giving you premium schedule control and freedom from physical commute traffic friction.
  • Front-Row Cyber Security AI Transformation: Elite career-building milestones achieved by single-handedly architecting the core AI platform securing the internal operations of a premier global cybersecurity leader.
  • Comprehensive family health preservation setups, inclusive of top-tier Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage along with matching Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA).
  • Access to matching 401(k) retirement options, generous flexible time off, paid company holidays, gender-neutral parental leave, grandparent leave, and voluntary critical wellness protections.
  • Access to robust work-from-home allowances, monthly mobile phone reimbursements, wellness/gym reimbursements, fertility coverage, adoption/surrogacy assistance, and no-cost access to professional Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) to foster lifelong career mastery.
