Job Description
About the Role: Our client is a renewable energy solutions provider based in Australia offering solar power systems, LED lighting upgrades, EV Charging, and energy-saving solutions for residential and commercial projects. We are looking for a Solar Design Engineer to assist in the design, simulation, and optimization of solar PV systems according to Australian standards.
What You'll Do
- Assist in the design of solar PV systems, including sizing and layout of PV panels, inverters, and other system components.
- Conduct calculations and simulations to optimize system performance and ensure compliance with relevant codes.
- Conduct assessments to evaluate the solar potential of different locations using specialized tools and software.
- Assist in the testing and commissioning of solar PV systems, including performance remote online testing and troubleshooting.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations related to solar PV projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and work with major manufacturers to resolve technical enquiries from customers.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of relevant Electrical Engineering experience, particularly in system design.
- Basic understanding of solar PV principles, components, and systems.
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (Australian standards preferred).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Bonus: Familiarity with solar PV software tools such as PVsyst, Helioscope, OpenSolar, and/or AutoCAD is highly advantageous.
