Software Tester

Key Responsibilities

• Thoroughly test developed web applications against specified requirements across desktop browsers and mobile devices, ensuring cross-platform compatibility and a seamless user experience.
• Record, monitor, and manage defects with clarity, traceability, and timely resolution, while maintaining communication with development teams and stakeholders.
• Create and maintain comprehensive manual test documentation, including test plans, test cases, step-by-step test scenarios, manual test scripts, and defect reports.
• Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to resolve issues, provide clear feedback, and participate in defect triage meetings to prioritize issues based on impact and urgency.
• Track test progress against release schedules, prioritizing workloads efficiently to meet deadlines without compromising quality.
• Review test environments, test coverage, and manual QA processes to support continuous improvement and uphold high-quality standards.
• Support project planning by providing accurate estimates for manual testing efforts, ensuring realistic timelines and timely delivery of high-quality software products.

Requirements

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of experience in Manual QA, including testing web-based applications, cross-browser functional testing, and familiarity with bug tracking tools.
• Ability to create and maintain comprehensive manual test documentation.
• Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for effective web application testing.
• Working knowledge of BDD-style acceptance criteria and test scenario writing.
• Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to think quickly, adapt under pressure, and manage tight deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills for collaboration with developers, stakeholders, and project teams.

Desirable Skills

• Experience working within an Agile team.
• Familiarity with both PC and Mac environments.
• ISEB/ISTQB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing.
• Degree-level educational qualification.
