This role is fully remote for South America based candidates. You will be joining an established, high-performing engineering team based in LATAM while collaborating closely with our US-based robotics and operations teams.
About Glacier
Hey, we're Glacier! Series A startup based in San Francisco tackling one of the world's most pressing problems: trash. Did you know that in the US, we send over half of our recyclables to the landfill? We're working to fix that. In doing so, we'll also be reducing carbon emissions, energy consumption, and depletion of natural resources.
Glacier builds custom sorting robots designed to sort apart recyclables as well as AI-powered business analytics that enable recyclers to superpower their plants and improve our society's circularity. From major CPG companies like Colgate and Amazon to municipal recycling facilities, our clients trust us to turn recycling data into actionable insights. Our technology has been recognized as one of TIME's Best Inventions and featured in a TIME documentary, TechCrunch, Fortune, and CBS.
The Role
We are looking for a talented software engineer to join our 3-person LATAM Fleet SWE team to help Glacier scale by keeping all of our robots and edge devices operational. You will be responsible for doing root cause analysis on issues and resolving issues when possible. Additionally, you will build tooling to enable the field service team to better support the fleet and delight customers.
Your responsibilities:
Respond to alerts generated by our system as well as issues raised by customers. You will be the primary software responder to issues and recommending solutions to the field service team.
Monitor and tune the performance of deployed devices to maximize the robots' impact.
Support the deployment of new devices to our ever-growing fleet.
Build tooling to enable the field service team to handle more issues and respond quicker to problems.
What You Bring:
3+ years of work experience on hardware or robotics projects or products.
3+ years of work experience with Python, Ubuntu/Linux, and Git
2+ years working through the command line for both local and remote systems.
English fluency as you will be working with a US-based team (B2 or higher)
Nice to have:
Networking debugging
Embedded programming
ElasticSearch
React
Django
Structured Text
Experience working with US companies or clients is a plus

Glacier
View Company ProfileGlacier (operating under endwaste.io, legally Glacier Robotics, Inc.) is a leading frontier technology, industrial robotics, and circular economy intelligence platform engineered to revolutionize the global waste management and recycling ecosystem. Founded in 2019 by technology innovators Rebecca Hu-Thrams and Areeb Malik, the corporation dismantled traditional material recovery facility (MRF) friction—where sorting relied on highly volatile, hazardous manual labor, cost-prohibitive optical sorters, and a severe deficit of actionable item-level data—by deploying highly affordable, space-efficient, AI-driven sorting robots. Engineered specifically for the harsh, high-velocity realities of active recycling lines rather than lab environments, Glacier's hardware-and-software architecture natively unifies proprietary high-speed robotic arms (capable of executing 60 successful picks per minute with 95% operational uptime), advanced computer vision systems, and heavy-duty, clog-resistant end-effectors. Rather than relying on generic image libraries, Glacier's advanced spatial AI models are trained on over 3 billion real-world recycling images, empowering the system to instantly classify and sort over 70 distinct material categories covering 90% of the typical curbside waste stream—including clear and colored PET, HDPE, flexible PE films, fiber, OCC, aluminum, and complex packaging items. To institutionalize brand accountability and supply chain transparency, the firm pioneered DataStream for Brands, an ESG data-as-a-service (DaaS) infrastructure that tracks real-world product packaging lifecycle metrics across MRFs, enabling massive CPG enterprises like Colgate and Amazon to mathematically verify recyclability claims, satisfy Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations, and comply with SEC climate disclosures. Backed by $33.2 million in total institutional funding, anchored by a prominent $16 million Series A financing round co-led by Amazon’s Climate Pledge Fund and New Enterprise Associates (NEA) alongside major sustainability backers like the Ecosystem Integrity Fund and AlleyCorp, the high-velocity climate-tech enterprise continues to scale rapidly across North America. Recognized globally for its pioneering industry contribution, the company earned elite industry accolades by being named to TIME's Best Inventions and ranked as the No. 1 Most Innovative Company in Robotics & Engineering by Fast Company in 2026. Headquartered in San Francisco, California, Glacier stands as the definitive technological standard for modern waste sorting—replacing linear landfill disposal with programmatic automation, high-purity commodity recovery, and end-to-end circular economy enablement.
