Position Overview

We are seeking a highly autonomous, systems-fluent, and cloud-native Software Architect to join our elite technology division as a vanguard of innovation under a permanent, full-time remote footprint open across select US states. In this high-leverage software engineering leadership seat, you will act as a principal engineer designing, validating, and delivering the first instances of next-generation, high-availability platform architectures. Shifting completely away from routine non-regulated administrative transcription data entry, generic promotional copywriting loops, or standalone frontend template styling modifications, you will run an active high-throughput cloud-native, event-driven streaming, and generative AI systems engineering laboratory. Partnering directly with cross-functional product management, marketing cell heads, and senior leadership, you will build scalable tech solutions that securely maintain a 99.99% operational SLA. This position requires an engineering authority with 8+ years of professional history who maps distributed application pipelines fluidly natively using Backend and infrastructure primitives, commands extensive lead background, oversees serverless computing nodes, and builds pragmatically automated frameworks to eliminate information silos across the tribe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hyperscale System Architecture Governance: Define, specify, and engineer the macro software architecture models for large-scale, integrated transactional driver-assistance networks natively utilizing Backend structural patterns.
  • Event-Driven Infrastructure Engineering: Design, deploy, and maintain robust, asynchronous event-streaming pipelines utilizing tools like AWS EventBridge, Kinesis, and SQS to process millions of concurrent dispatches.
  • Cloud-Native Serverless Orchestration: Architect performant P/IaaS backend nodes using serverless microservices technologies, optimizing layers inside cloud platforms (including AWS Lambda, AWS Fargate, or equivalent cloud containers).
  • Generative AI Infrastructure (SE4AI/AI4SE): Create and integrate generative AI-powered features safely while systematically mitigating model hallucinations, utilizing pragmatic AI tooling to accelerate developer productivity loops.
  • Prototype and PoC Instrumentation: Scaffolding, testing, and benchmark-testing active technical proofs-of-concept and responsive prototypes to rapidly de-risk upstream platform strategies.
  • Test-Driven Craftsmanship Evangelism: Champion ironclad development quality loops, enforcing strict Test-First or Test-Driven Development (TDD) rules and advanced Git/Gitflow version control sanitations.
  • Full-Stack Architecture Flexibility: Move fluidly across various layers of our technology stack—spanning frontend SPA interfaces, backend API abstractions, relational or document databases, and custom CI/CD automation pipelines.
  • Tribe Cross-Functional Mentorship: Guide, coach, and elevate junior software engineers cross-functionally, authoring clear technical documentation to communicate architecture intent to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • A minimum of 8+ years of proven, successful professional history operating inside a Software Architect, Principal Engineer, Lead Distributed Systems Developer, or closely matching technical backend infrastructure capacity.
  • A minimum of 3+ years of formal technical leadership, team management, or systems architecture engineering background.
  • Expert Cloud-Native Architecture Command: Advanced production history building, scaling, and maintaining fault-tolerant systems within prominent enterprise cloud platforms (specifically AWS, Azure, or GCP), with heavy focus on serverless configurations.
  • Demonstrated experience designing high-availability integrated systems boasting verifiable 99.99% runtime SLA parameters.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and visual presentation communication strengths in English, with an established ability to deconstruct complex multi-tiered hardware/software dependencies into scannable models.
  • Hiring Locations Context: Position operates under hybrid-remote parameters open exclusively to qualified technical architects residing permanently within the following US states: Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York State, New Mexico, North Carolina, Tennessee, or Virginia.
  • Onboarding Mobility: Absolute willingness to travel to our corporate headquarters in Medford, Massachusetts for your initial onboarding sessions (all corporate travel logistics, lodging, and expenses are managed and fully covered by Agero).

Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)

  • Prior technical background compiling data schemas, using ORM/ODM libraries (such as SQLAlchemy or PynamoDB frameworks).
  • Familiarity with distributed logging networks and metrics aggregators (including Datadog or Splunk implementations) to monitor latency spikes.
  • Exposure to machine learning model deployment pipelines, training workflows, and exposing inference endpoints for real-time predictive analytics.
